The Good Wife – 5.06 ‘The Next Day’
Diane prepares for her 424th case, gets fired, then rehired again after a roundy-round with the client, the ACTB Board, and revolving files. Unclench your fist people. Squash it. Come on now.
Unfortunately for Diane, Peter didn’t get the memo and her Supreme Court position has been withdrawn, thus uniting the dream team with Will.
Will feels awake, so much so, he gets a tattoo, embarks in a whopping three-day relationship, which already involves potential children, and plans to expand his law firm to take over all of North America. Can you say overcompensating? Will is on his game, however, and in the end, out foxes Alicia by acquiring the firm she sought to align with, leaving the upstarts stranded again.
Alicia meets the now knocked-up Marylin who does not leave a good impression. (By-the-by, did you notice the reference Marylin used to Peter, and not Governor?) Having the new law firm at her home is wearing very thin. With Alicia being the only chief among so many indians their weakness are beginning to show. She is the glue holding all of this together.
Will does know a thing or two about his opponent and is evenly matched with Alicia. In some ways the both of them seem to relish the challenge in facing each other head-on. It makes me excited to see where this whole thing is going. I’m thinking SOMETHING CATASTROPHIC is going to happen that will force the two of them to align again. Will won this battle, but who will carry the war?
