Beauty And the Beast: What to Anticipate for Season 2
On October 7, the second season of Beauty And the Beast, the remake of the classic 1980’s TV series as told by The CW, will air its premiere episode, picking up three months after the stunning events of the show’s cliffhanger from this past May.
To refresh your memory of the season finale, Vincent (series lead Jay Ryan) was kidnapped by a mysterious man – perhaps the man in charge of Muirfield, who also turned out to be Catherine’s (series lead Kristin Kreuk) biological father (guest star Ted Whittall) – while Gabe (recurring guest star Sendhil Ramamurthy) was gunned down, leaving Catherine behind at Gabe’s adopted family’s mansion alone.
What is known about the season premiere – besides a three month time jump – is that Vincent’s memory has been wiped clean, which simply means he won’t remember Catherine. And that being said, how much will he even remember his best friend JT (series regular Austin Basis) especially if his memory has been wiped? Well that last part is unknown, but fans will, more than likely, be up-in-arms over the former.
Oh, and one more thing: Vincent is going to meet the guy who turned him into a beast (guest star Brian Tee); and there is no telling what will happen there.
That isn’t the only unbelievable development in the season premiere, oh no it’s not! It would seem that Gabe somehow survived that hail of bullets with Catherine’s help and he, in turn, will end up helping JT and Catherine to track Vincent down.
Needless to say, this season is going to have a whole, new different look and feel with the focus being on the characters’ relationships and the history behind Vincent’s beast powers. One of the biggest changes will be the addition of new cast member Amber Skye Noyes, who will play a character named Tori, who is the daughter of a beast – someone else who was part of the experiments for which Vincent endured – and, very well, may be a beast herself. The even more troubling part about this new character is that Vincent may end up falling for Tori, but hopefully that feeling won’t last for long.
Speaking of new faces that will be cropping up on the show this season, viewers can expect to see One Tree Hill alum Paul Johansson guesting as Kurt, an arrogant and powerful businessman in Manhattan, who just happens to be Tori’s dad. Annie Ilonzeh (from Arrow and Switched at Birth) will play Beth, an old friend of Catherine’s past who is now a journalist and Blair Redford (from Switched at Birth and The Lying Game), who will play Zach, a former Army buddy of Vincent.
Make sure to tune into the second season premiere of Beauty And the Beast on The CW on October 7 at 9/8c to find out what will happen.
