REVOLUTION: A Kid’s Reaction to the Pilot
One of the fun things about Comic Con is that you see things you wouldn’t have otherwise while waiting for the panel you wanted to watch. We ended up sitting through the Revolution panel to stay for Mythbusters. I see the show having a story line I could get hooked on easily.
In the show, all electricity is gone, or that’s what you are supposed to think. Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) is on a mission to find her uncle and save her brother, who has been kidnapped. In the panel we got to see the pilot. A very thrilling and eye opening story line, that makes you wonder.
I like it, because there is so much going on. Another reason is that it is filled with action and emotion. Charlie’s father dies early in the first episode, and her mother is already dead. She tries hard to rescue the last person in her family along with one of her dad’s friends and a woman we suppose is her step mom. Meanwhile they are in a setting where anything made with electricity is fading away.
Charlie is an independent and tough girl. She would of course need to be with the top bad guys after her (the same people that took her brother). There is a big fight scene where she and her team help defend her uncle when he is attacked, because he is family. The pilot ends when a woman who helped Charlie’s brother plugs in familiar device, like a flash drive and her computer screen turns on. She begins to chat with some unknown person talking about how the bad guys were there and they did not find it. Well doesn’t that give you something to think about? This device looks almost if not exactly like the device that Charlie’s dad gave his friend to protect before he was killed.
If you are someone who likes adventure and mystery, then I highly recommend Revolution. The new show premieres Monday, September 17 at 10/9c on NBC.
