The NiceGirlsTV CASTING COUCH

By  |

This week the casting couch features the following guest stars in some of our returning fall favorites, a must-see new drama and a much-anticipated (but long in coming) summer return:

Jurnee Smollett

Jurnee Smollett

Actress Jurnee Smollett (Friday Night Lights and True Blood) will have a recurring role on Parenthood this fall, playing a smart and feisty woman named Heather whom Kristina (series regular Monica Potter) hires as her campaign manager when she decides to run for office. Parenthood is back on NBC starting on September 26.

James LeGros

James LeGros

Actor James LeGros (Ally McBeal) will have the recurring role of Father Paul in the third season of Revenge this fall. Emily (series lead Emily VanCamp) will seek him out (and it should also be noted that Father Paul has some kind of tie to the Grayson family). Revenge will be back on ABC starting on September 29.

James Murray

James Murray

Actor James Murray (UK’s original Primeval) has joined the cast of Defiance for its second season where he will play Niles Pottinger, the new mayor of Defiance. Appointed by the Earth Republic, Pottinger is shrewd, polished and charming, but his civilized veneer hides a ruthless pragmatist who traffics in information and secrets, and mercilessly punishes those who defy him. His latest object of desire is ex-mayor Amanda Rosewater (series regular Julie Benz). Defiance will not be back for its second season on Syfy until June 2014.

Oliver Hudson

Oliver Hudson

Actor Oliver Hudson (Rules of Engagement) will have a recurring role on Nashville when it returns for its second season this fall on ABC. He will play a love interest of Rayna’s (series lead Connie Britton). Nashville will begin its second season on ABC on September 25.

Antonio Sabato, Jr.

Antonio Sabato, Jr.

Actor Antonio Sabato, Jr. (The Bold and the Beautiful) will guest star on an upcoming episode of Castle, playing Ramon Russo, an actor best known for his role on the fictional ’90s sitcom 2 Cool For School (a nod to the popular Saved By the Bell sitcom). As the cast of the fictional show prepares to reunite for a movie, the Screech-like character is murdered. Enter Castle, Ryan and Esposito, who take on the case until a familiar face returns to lead the investigation. The season premiere of Castle is set for ABC on September 23.

Jeremy Jordan

Jeremy Jordan

Actor-singer Jeremy Jordan (Smash) will show up in an upcoming episode of Elementary, playing Joey Castro, the son of a former surgical patient of Joan’s (series lead Lucy Liu). Joan feels an affinity for Joey given their shared history, but her affections for the young man are tested when he comes to her with an unexpected request. Elementary will return for its sophomore season on CBS on September 26.

Dylan Bruce

Dylan Bruce

Actor Dylan Bruce (Orphan Black) will guest star in an upcoming episode of Arrow, playing Laurel’s (series regular Katie Cassidy) new co-worker Adam Donner, a corn-fed, All-American lawyer. Arrow will be back for its second season on The CW on October 9.
