The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

By  |

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” may be the title of a classic single from the one and only Roberta Flack, but it is also the title of a new series of articles that I plan to do here at NiceGirlsTV at least once a month, focusing on those actors and actresses who are household names now. Those players who have a key role in the top TV shows that are on the air currently, while taking a look at the first time I ever saw their face on television.

And, given the fact that there are quite a number of big name stars as part of the current Sunday night TV line-up, the following is a list of the first time ever I saw “their” face before they made it big:

Ginnifer Goodwin

Ginnifer Goodwin:

WHO SHE PLAYS NOW: Snow White/Mary Margaret on Once Upon a Time – She may play one of the top classic fairytale characters in the popular ABC series now, but…

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW HER FACE: She had a recurring role as Diane Snyder on the fan-favorite NBC series Ed that told the story of a lawyer whose office was inside a bowling alley.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt:

WHO SHE PLAYS NOW: Riley Parks, the single mother with a secret life on the Lifetime series The Client List, but…

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW HER FACE: She appeared in the children- and teen-oriented 1980’s show Kids, Incorporated that aired for nine seasons, focusing on children and teenagers who performed in their own rock group, Kids Incorporated.

Jon Hamm

Jon Hamm:

WHO HE PLAYS NOW: Don Draper on the period piece AMC drama Mad Men, but…

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW HIS FACE: He appeared in the fan favorite NBC series Providence, playing Burt Ridley, the boyfriend of younger sister Joanie.

Emily VanCamp

Emily VanCamp:

WHO SHE PLAYS NOW: Emily Thorne aka Amanda Clarke in the much-buzzed-about ABC soap opera Revenge, but…

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW HER FACE: She played Sam Dolan on the short-lived WB series Glory Days that focused on an author of a tell-all book with writer’s block who returns home for inspiration only to find that the locals are not happy with his book.

Travis Fimmel

Travis Fimmel:

WHO HE PLAYS NOW: Ragnar Lothbrok, the lead player in the History Channel mini-series Vikings, but…

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW HIS FACE: He was a top model for Calvin Klein before landing the lead role in the short-lived WB series Tarzan.

Jason Momoa

Jason Momoa:

WHO HE PLAY(ED): He played Khal Drago during the first season of Game of Thrones, but…

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW HIS FACE: He appeared as Jason Ioane in the final season of the cult classic series Baywatch.

Nick Wechsler

Nick Wechsler:

WHO HE PLAYS NOW: He also appears as Jack Porter in the ABC soap opera Revenge, but…

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW HIS FACE: As an unnamed mugger in the made-for-TV movie Full Circle based on the Danielle Steel novel of the same name; he then had his first TV role as Kevin “Trek” Sanders on the short-lived series Team Knight Rider.

Kelli Williams

Kelli Williams:

WHO SHE PLAYS NOW: Jackie Clarke on the long-running Lifetime drama Army Wives, but…

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW HER FACE: She appeared in an episode of the ABC period piece drama Young Riders, playing a young woman named Emily Metcalfe, who was the love interest of one of the main characters.

If you were asked to name the first time you ever saw their face, are there any Sunday night stars who would fit that bill? Please share.
