British actress Katie McGrath, who currently stars as Morgana on the Syfy series Merlin, which is in its final season, has joined the cast of the upcoming NBC thriller Dracula that will star Jonathan Rhys Meyers (from Bend It Like Beckham and The Tudors fame) as Alan Grayson, an American entrepreneur, who arrives in London and maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In truth he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. He falls hopelessly in love, though, with Mina Murray (Jessica De Gouw from ‘Arrow’) who appears to be the reincarnation of his dead wife.

McGrath will appear as Lucy Westenra, Aristocratic London’s sexy, social butterfly and Mina’s best friend who has a penchant for gossip, flirting and all things glamorous.

US TV viewers will also recognize McGrath for her lead role in the Hallmark movie A Princess for Christmas that also starred James Bond alum Roger Moore.

An official airdate for Dracula has not been announced yet.
