February TV Calendar

The following list provides the dates of the new and returning cable dramas as well as mini-series and made-for-TV movies that will air during February:

February 1 – The first Netflix original series House of Cards will debut online

Online Series Synopsis: Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Kate Mara star in the political drama based on the BBC miniseries of the same name that takes viewers through the back halls of greed, sex, love and corruption in modern Washington, D.C. Spacey plays Francis Underwood, the House Majority Whip, who’s described as masterful, beguiling, charismatic and ruthless. He and his equally ambitious wife Claire (Wright) stop at nothing to ensure their ascendancy.

February 2 – The Lifetime movie Betty & Coretta will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Betty & Coretta tells the dual real-life stories of Coretta Scott King (Angela Bassett) and Dr. Betty Shabazz (Mary J. Blige), wives respectively of Dr. Martin Luther King (Malik Yoba, New York Undercover) and Malcolm X (Lindsay Owen Pierre, The Killing Yard), as they create an unbreakable life-long bond after their husbands’ tragic assassinations. These two women not only inherited the mantle of the civil rights movement in America, each also found herself to be a single mother who had to find a way to raise and support her children with no husband or father, resulting in a relationship like no other that spanned more than three decades.

February 4 – Monday Mornings will debut on TNT at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: Set at the fictional Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon, the series follows the lives of doctors as they push the limits of their abilities and confront their personal and professional failings. The cast includes Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina, Jamie Bamber, Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao and Emily Swallow.

February 5 – Smash will air its season premiere on NBC at 9 PM

February 5 – Emily Owens, M.D. will air its series finale on The CW at 9 PM

February 8 – The FOX drama Touch will be back with a new season at 9 PM, starting with a two-hour premiere

February 9 – The Hallmark Channel movie Be My Valentine will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Firefighter Lieutenant Dan Farrell (Billy Baldwin) is a widower and single dad who isn’t looking for love. But a few weeks before Valentine’s Day, his team responds to a fire at a local florist and he can’t help but notice the pretty owner, Kate (Natalie Brown). When he struggles to buy flower arrangements for the stations annual Valentine’s Day Firefighter’s Ball, Dan enlists Kate’s expertise and soon the two are spending lots of time getting to know each other.

February 9 – Twist of Faith is the new Lifetime movie that will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This interfaith love story is about a single Christian mother (singer Toni Braxton) and an Orthodox Jewish widower (David Julian Hirsh), whose mutual passion for music and singing draws them together. Mykelti Williamson (Justified) co-stars.

February 10 – Once Upon a Time and Revenge will both be back after a short break on ABC at 8 PM and 9 PM respectively

February 10 – The Walking Dead will be back with new episodes on AMC starting tonight at 10 PM

February 10 – The web series Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome will debut at 8 PM on Syfy

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This 10-part web series follow the adventures of young William “Husker” Adama (Luke Pasqualino from The Borgias), a young pilot just out of the Academy, during the tenth year of the First Cylon war, as he is assigned to the newest battlestar in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. The cast includes Ben Cotton (Stargate: Atlantis), Jon Pyper-Ferguson (Caprica), Zak Santiago (Young Blades), Mike Dopud (Continuum), Brian Markinson (Caprica), Adrian Holmes (Smallville) and Ty Olsson (Men in Trees) as well as the voice of Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica).

February 12 – Smash is expected to move to its regular timeslot of 10 PM on NBC

NOTE: The State of the Union Address could affect most of the regular programming so be forewarned.

February 13 – The new season of Southland will air on TNT at 10 PM

February 14 – The new ABC drama Zero Hour will debut at 8 PM

Show Synopsis: Anthony Edwards (ER) stars as Hank Galliston, the publisher of a paranormal enthusiast magazine, Modern Skeptic, spending his career following clues, debunking myths and solving conspiracies. But when his beautiful wife, Laila (Jacinda Barrett), is abducted from her antique clock shop, Hank gets pulled into one of the most compelling mysteries in human history, stretching around the world and back centuries. Contained in one of his wife’s clocks is a treasure map, and what it leads to could be cataclysmic. Now it’s up to Hank to decipher the symbols and unlock the secrets of the map, while ensuring the answers don’t fall into the wrong hands. The cast includes Michael Nyqvist, Addison Timlin, Scott Michael Foster and Carmen Ejogo.

February 15 – The Psych slumber party will be held on the USA Network, starting at 12 midnight and running six fan favorite episodes

February 16 – The new Lifetime movie Pastor Brown will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This made-for-TV follows a young woman (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) who returns home to take over as pastor of the family church after her father’s (Keith David) death and is forced to face her sordid past and mend fences with her son (Michael B. Jordan) and sister (Nicole Ari Parker). The cast includes Rockmund Dunbar (Sons of Anarchy – who also directed the film), Tisha Campbell-Martin, Ernie Hudson and Michael Beach.

February 19 – Body of Proof will be back with a new season on ABC at 10 PM

February 19 – The new CW drama Cult will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: Matt Davis (The Vampire Diaries) stars as investigative journalist Jeff Sefton, who is trying to find his missing brother, Nate. Nate believed fans of the TV show “Cult” intended to harm him, a bizarre theory that Jeff begins to think might just have merit after Nate goes missing. The cast includes Robert Knepper, Alona Tal and Jessica Lucas.

February 20 – The season finale of Necessary Roughness will air on the USA Network at 10 PM

February 21 – Suits will air its season finale at 10 PM on the USA Network

February 22 – The season finale of CSI: NY will air on CBS at 9 PM

February 23 – The Hallmark Movie Channel movie Meddling Mom will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Widow Carmen Vega (Sonia Braga) is happy to intrude in her daughters’ love lives; but they decide to scheme against her by setting her up with Luis (Tony Plana), a handsome ballroom dance teacher.

February 24 – Academy Awards will air on ABC at 7 PM

February 25 – Bunheads will air its season finale on ABC Family at 9 PM

February 26 – A special preview of the new CBS drama Golden Boy will air at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: The show focuses on the meteoric rise of an ambitious cop (Theo James), who becomes the youngest police commissioner in the history of New York City; exploring the high personal and professional costs he pays to achieve it as he is mentored by his partner, an experienced veteran detective (Chi McBride). The cast includes Bonnie Somerville, Holt McCallany, Kevin Alejandro and Stella Maeve.

February 26 – The HBO mini-series Parade’s End will debut at 9 PM

Mini-Series Synopsis: Married to Sylvia (Rebecca Hall), a callous socialite who has given birth to a child that may not be his, English aristocrat Christopher Tietjens (Benedict Cumberbatch) becomes entranced by Valentine Wannop (Adelaide Clemens), a fearless young woman who unexpectedly turns his world upside down. As war breaks out across Europe, Christopher, compelled by an outmoded code of conduct, feels obligated to remain loyal to his wife as he leaves a heartbroken Valentine to fight in France. Christopher struggles to adapt to his new life as an army officer. When he returns to England briefly, suffering from shell shock, he is alarmed to discover himself the target of vicious rumors. Rejected by his father and brother, alienated from Sylvia, with only Valentine to support him, he attempts to hold on to sanity and meaning as the old world order collapses amidst tremendous upheaval. The cast also includes Rupert Everett, Janet McTeer and Miranda Richardson.

NOTE: This mini-series will also air on February 27 and 28 at 9 PM.

February 27 – Psych will be back with more new episodes on the USA Network at 10 PM
