Announcing the 30th Annual PaleyFest

By  |

Last Wednesday, the Paley Center for Media announced the full line-up for the 30th Annual PaleyFest, which will be held, once again, at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills from March 1 to March 15 this year.

As you can imagine, we here at NiceGirlsTV always look forward to not only the announcement of this annual fete that honors quality television programming but also attending as many of the panels as possible.

For the past 9 years I, personally, have been a member of the Paley Center for Media and have thoroughly enjoyed being able to attend the multitude of panels highlighted at the Center’s location in Beverly Hills as well as the annual PaleyFest at the various locations where it has been held over that time.

But enough about that, let’s take a look at this year’s line-up:

First of all, a special kick-off event will be held at the Paley Center for Media on February 27 to honor the inaugural PaleyFest Icon Award, which will be presented to Ryan Murphy, the creative force behind TV shows like Glee and American Horror Story: Asylum.

Then on Friday, March 1, the opening night of PaleyFest 2013, will feature the cast and creative team of the AMC zombie-fest The Walking Dead.

The new NBC post-apocalyptic drama Revolution will then be spotlighted on Saturday, March 2 followed by back-to-back panels on Sunday, March 3 that will feature first the ABC fairytale drama Once Upon a Time, which is returning for its second consecutive year and later that night the rather-maligned HBO Aaron Sorkin-created drama The Newsroom.

The focus of PaleyFest will then shift over to comedy for a couple nights with the cult favorite NBC sitcom Community being highlighted on Tuesday, March 5 followed by the new NBC comedy The New Normal on Wednesday, March 6.

On Thursday, March 7, the critically acclaimed NBC family drama Parenthood will be on the stage followed by a return to comedy via the new FOX sitcom The Mindy Project, which will be spotlighted on Friday, March 8.

It will be another double feature on Saturday, March 9 with the debut of two new dramas, starting with a matinee panel of the cast and creative team for the ABC music-laced series Nashville and the red-hot CW series Arrow later that night.

On Sunday, March 10, the reboot of the popular soap opera Dallas, which airs on TNT, will be featured followed by more nights of comedy. The panel that will be featured on Monday, March 11 will be the FOX sitcom New Girl then the highest rated sitcom on network TV – the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory will take the stage on Wednesday, March 13. And, then will be rounded out on Thursday, March 14 will spotlight the comedy 2 Broke Girls.

The closing night of the big event will be held on Friday, March 15 and will feature the creepy FX drama American Horror Story: Asylum.

Needless to say, the 30th Annual PaleyFest is going to be an interesting event; and NiceGirlsTV will be there for a number of the panels, providing coverage and photos as quickly as possible.

Tickets went on sale to members of the Paley Center for Media this past Friday with tickets going on sale for the general public on Sunday so if you haven’t gotten tickets yet, you just might be a little out of luck as the tickets tend to sell out quickly, but you can visit here to find out what tickets might still be available. As more details on each night’s event are released, you can find them at the official PaleyFest site. And, of course, we also invite you to visit our site to find our coverage on the big annual event.
