HART OF DIXIE: Walking After Midnight Recap

I am covering Heart of Dixie this week as a huge thanks to Nice Girl Leah for helping me out last week, so if I do half as good as Leah normally does, I consider it a win! Let’s get to it!

It’s Halloween in Bluebell and someone has been sleeping in Zoe’s bed. She has been spending more time with Wade since they have their casual but monogamous relationship so she thinks she either has a stalker or Wade might be messing with her to scare her for Halloween.

Zoe bought mace, a baseball bat and a wireless camera to catch her stalker (although Wade has other plans for the camera). She is going to catch the stalker and bring him or her to justice.

Lemon is hard at work on Lavon’s campaign for Mayor. She wants to take Ruby down and we all know that Lemon usually gets what she wants (well except for George-ouch). She has her team of Lavon supporters signing up new voters and all is well, until one team member signs up the Baudry Family that has 22 members who happen to huge Auburn fans. Lemon fears they will not vote for Lavon since he played football for The University of Alabama. So AnnaBeth came up with the idea that Lavon should pretend he is dating her since she is Auburn royalty. He could win their votes that way. Lemon doesn’t like the idea but 22 votes are 22 votes, so Lavon decides to go along with it.

Zoe is lying in her bed when someone pulls the covers back and starts to get in the bed with her. She quickly reaches for her mace and sprays the stalker only to discover it is George Tucker. Woops! He is confused as to how he got there and explains that he has been having weird things happen to him lately. Dr. Zoe realizes that he has been sleepwalking. She offers to come over to do a sleep study on him.

Everyone is getting ready for the Halloween party at the Rammer Jammer. Wade dressed as James Bond and AnnaBeth and Lavon are going as Romeo and Juliet. AnnaBeth admits to Lemon that she hopes her fake relationship with Lavon turns into a real one and Lemon (who dressed as Marilyn Monroe) is not happy about it.

Zoe dozes off while monitoring George and when she wakes up he is nowhere to be found.  She went to look for him at the Halloween party but he wasn’t there, so she asked Wade to help her find him.

Lavon and Annabeth pull off their couple plan and the Baudry family is on board, but Lemon isn’t. She told Lavon he was lying to those people and that makes him just as bad as Ruby. She didn’t know if she wanted to vote for him anymore.

Sleepwalking George shows up to the party in his Fireman costume. Zoe and Wade find him and he refers to Zoe as his girlfriend. Awkward! Wade agrees to help her get him to his house boat despite George’s babbling about Zoe. When George and Zoe were alone, George goes on about how they are happy together and he starts to kiss Zoe. Wade sees him and pushes him off the boat into the water. He understands he was sleepwalking but Zoe has no excuse for almost letting him kiss her and he leaves.

Lavon feels bad about lying so he admitted to the Baudry family that he is not dating AnnaBeth and they vowed to vote for Ruby. Lemon was proud of him for coming clean but hopefully his honesty won’t cost him the election.

Zoe explained to George the details of his sleepwalking adventures including how he referred to her as his girlfriend. He admitted to her that he is still hung up on her and wonders why they aren’t together. She told him she is hung up on him too but she meant what she said. She does not want to be his rebound girl. She told him he should move on by being with someone he has some feelings for, because that is what she is doing. She told him the relationship was not serious but it is what she needs right now and left.

After hearing his apology to the Baudry family, Ruby realizes that he isn’t the same man who left town without calling her. She apologizes to him and they have a social drink together.

Over at the Rammer Jammer George decided to ask Presley (who works for a vendor of the bar) out to dinner because he felt she could challenge him. She agreed to drinks but no dinner, and if he showed up wearing a tie she was going to leave. I like this girl. She has some spunk!

Zoe went to Wade’s and apologized for almost kissing George. She told him that she told George she was involved with someone. She wants to be monogamous but casual with him. He stared at her and then pretended to be sleepwalking, picked her up, slapped her on the butt and put her down on the couch for the night. Gotta love Wade!
