WAREHOUSE 13 Recap: An Evil Within

So The Warehouse is back to its old self but Steve is still dead and Claudia isn’t going to let it go and while that basically sums up the episode you should keep reading anyway…

The mystery of the week brings us to Philadelphia….two guys are in a diner discussing some sort of science or math problem that I do not understand. Turns out they have done the math and Vulcans are 47% stronger than Klingons. Oddly enough I’m pretty sure knowing this will come in handy for me in the future.
During this discussion a guy in a baseball hat walks through the diner and chains the back door from the outside.
A few moments late what can only be described as a monster starts to attack the people in the diner. They fight back since they can’t get out of the chained back door. The cops get there to find them beating the crap out of a guy, not a monster. The guy on the floor is not looking so good.

Back at Leena’s Artie is looking at things in Claudia’s room while in his head hearing Brother Brent Spiners message, “An evil that will live with you the rest of your days.”
Leena enters and says they will find her. Downstairs Pete and Myka want to know what the plan to help Claudia is. Artie says they aren’t helping Claudia. He is going to help Claudia and they are going to Philadelphia.
Artie shoos Pete and Myka out the door and looking around sees Brother Brent outside, Artie wants to know what the heck he is doing there. He is understandably shaken by seeing Brother Brent, turns out his name is Adrian, so Brother Adrian, at Leena’s door. Adrian is looking for Artie because he needs Artie’s help. He needs an item located. He needs Magellan’s artifact back so time can be undone. The evil it releases has to be irradiated. The only way to do that is to reset the reset time. Messing with time is a tricky thing so I hope you can keep up, I hope I can keep up.
Artie is arguing the resetting of the time but Brother Adrian is insistent. Artie says he will help him find the device and irradiate the evil.
Brother Adrian leaves and Artie looks upset.

At the Regent Chatelet Claudia in her dark “I’m on a mission make up” is watching the building with the Metronome in the front seat next to her.

In Philly Pete and Myka are getting a statement from the patrons of the diner. They aren’t really getting anywhere.
At a dental office across town the same thing is happening. A guy, who looks like a monster to everyone in the office gets attacked and killed.
The same guy in the hat who locked the diner door is at the dental office.

Claudia meanwhile in killer heals acts flustered and causes a scene to get past the guard and into the Regent Chatelet. She electrocutes a guard and is about to stun gun another guard when Artie shows up.

Myka and Pete are on scene at the dental office. They aren’t having much luck there either.

Back at the Regent headquarters Claudia is telling Artie that she doesn’t care what it takes…she is bringing Steve back. Artie says he knows how she feels, he has lost a lot of people, but you do not get to use artifacts for your own selfish needs. Claudia says it isn’t about her it’s about Steve. Claudia asks if Artie could use an artifact to set something right, undo a huge stupid tragedy, wouldn’t he. Artie is momentarily silenced. Then he says it is tempting but he won’t let her do it. He won’t let her go down this path.
Just then Pete’s Mom shows up. Artie says Claudia didn’t do anything wrong yet and Pete’s Mom says it’s okay a decision has already been made and Claudia can bring Steve back. Artie says no, something could be released and this isn’t right. Artie leaves repeating, “This is wrong.” Claudia thanks Pete’s Mom, they have arrangements to make.

A lady is taking her groceries into the house when bad hat man shows up and hands her a key. She says it isn’t hers but thanks. She goes into the house and her husband sees a crazy tentacle waving monster. Thankfully this time the guy didn’t kill the “monster” he locked it in a closet. Pete and Myka get there and they say they are going to handle it, much like the Men in Black. They open the closet door and see the frightened lady.

Claudia and Pete’s Mom (I know, last week it was Brother Brent Spiner and this week it’s Pete’s Mom – I’m sorry) anyway…they are in Claudia’s room. Steve’s very blue, dead body is lying on the bed. Claudia wants to know if he is going to be the same, he won’t be a zombie right? Pete’s Mom says he will be fine but she relays the seriousness of this artifact and says she will be there to help Claudia.
They start the metronome. It’s not working as fast as Claudia would like.

Artie meets Brother Adrian to ask about the evil. He tells Artie the evil will cut through the person who used the artifact like a dagger, Artie is thinking of the vision of Claudia using the dagger on him.
Back in Steve’s room Steve “wakes up” with a start and Claudia starts to have trouble breathing.
Claudia panics and starts to lose it. She manages to get it together and bring Steve back. She cries and hugs him and he wants to know what happened.

Brother Adrian is still trying to make Artie realize that there is nothing to be done to counteract this impending evil except finding the artifact and resetting time.

Pete and Myka are speaking to the wife about what happened before she got home. She remembers seeing the hat man and tells Pete and Myka about the key. Pete finally remembers where he has seen the monsters before. From a comic he read as a child. The author suffered night terrors and blamed it on a key.
Now they also have a connection. The hat guy had on a championship baseball hat, the guy from the diner had a championship bobble head in his apartment. After doing a quick web search Pete and Myka find out there was a woman trampled to death at that same championship game.

Back at Leena’s Claudia and Steve are talking. He feels like he has been hit by a truck. He remembers Marcus coming at his with a syringe. Claudia doesn’t tell him he died, only that what was in the syringe was pretty strong and he has been out for a while.
Steve wants to know what Claudia isn’t telling him. He knows she is lying, he’s a human lie detector. He sees the metronome, figures it out and freaks out.

Back in Philly Pete and Myka figure out the fiancé of the lady who was trampled is making the people that didn’t help him at the time look like monsters to their loved ones. They figure out one more guy on the list and go to find him.

Steve is sitting outside and Claudia is trying to make it okay. She is sorry she didn’t tell him he had died, but she isn’t sorry she brought him back. She hopes he can forgive her, but it’s okay if he doesn’t as long as he is here. He says it’s just weird and it will take some time.

Myka is at the fiancés house to try to stop him while Pete goes to the last guy on the lists house. Myka finds a studio of sculpted monsters but no fiancé. The fiancé shows up at the last guy on the lists house. He sees Pete and takes off but Pete catches up with him. The key ends up in Pete’s hand and now everyone sees a monster. Myka gets there just before the people are about to riot. They are chasing Pete, or what they see-a monster, when Myka gets there. She gets in front of Pete and electro-shoots a guy who charges them. Myka sees the fiancé and after tackling him puts the key in an artifact bag right before a lady gets a chance to take an axe to Pete’s head.

Back at the warehouse Claudia runs into the head Regent, Kosan. Turns out Pete’s Mom, or Jane, didn’t get permission. She didn’t think it was fair that Steve died. Regent Kosan tells them they don’t know the downside to the artifact, what if it is something horrible. The Regents will keep the metronome and Steve will be under constant watch. If things go wrong, the Regents won’t hesitate to stop the metronome.
Claudia gets back to Leena’s and Artie wants to know if she is okay. She wants to know if she and Artie are okay and he says yes. Then Arties artifact finding device beeps and the dagger he keeps seeing in his vision is on the screen. He looks worried for a moment but pretends everything is fine before sitting down to dinner with everyone.
