ABDUCTED: THE CARLINA WHITE STORY: A New Lifetime Original Film Tackles Child Abduction
Aunjanue Ellis (The Mentalist, True Blood, The Help) will star in this new made-for-TV, Lifetimeoriginal
film, ABDUCTED: THE CARLINA WHITE STORY. Ellis plays Ann Pettway, a woman who walked into a hospital in 1987 and walked out with a three week old baby girl, then disappeared for 23 years. “This is a powerful role and I am honored to have the opportunity to breathe life into this complicated character,” says Ellis. “As a woman, I was drawn to the idea of portraying a woman who so desperately wanted to be a mother that she was willing to go to criminal lengths. The issue of child abduction is something that we need to address”.
Ellis, whose recent credits include the Academy Award nominated films The Help and Ray, The Taking of Pelham 123 and appearances onABC’s Missing and CBS’s Blue Bloods and The Mentalist, has been nominated for numerous awards including an Image Award at the NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Men of Honor (2000) and an Actor award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for Ray (2004). Ellis has also graced the theatrical stage, having appeared in Joe Turner’s Come and Gone and The Tempest.
We will post more information as it comes in.
