NICE BOY OF THE WEEK: Dylan O’Brien

By  |

While actor Dylan O’Brien is a relative newcomer to television viewers, his role as Stiles on the popular horror-laced MTV drama Teen Wolf has certainly gotten him noticed, making him a good choice for Nice Boy of the Week here at NiceGirlsTV.

Dylan grew up in Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey, but he and his family moved to Hermosa Beach, California when he was 12 years old. Prior to getting the acting bug, he planned on attending film school with the hope of becoming a cinematographer like his father. [It should be noted that his mom is a former actress.]

Back in 2006, Dylan began acting, directing and producing his own independent videos and became a star thanks to You Tube. In 2011, he auditioned for Teen Wolf, making a deal with his parents that if he did not get cast on the show, he would pursue college. At first Dylan was under consideration for the lead role of Scott, but he was more interested in playing Scott’s best friend Stiles.

Last year, Dylan starred in the independent film High Road but his first big screen appearance will be in the upcoming film The First Time where he will star alongside Britt Robertson (Life Unexpected and The Secret Circle), Victoria Justice (Zoey 101 and Victorious) as well as Joshua Malina (Scandal and In Plain Sight) and Christine Taylor (Zoolander).

Aside from his work on Teen Wolf and his burgeoning film career, Dylan plays the drums in the band Slow Kids At Play.

Teen Wolf airs on Monday nights at 10/9c on MTV.
