MERLIN: The Game Casts Its Spell on Facebook
Merlin fans will be happy to know that while the show is on hiatus here in the States, come this fall they can continue the adventure in a new online game that can be played with friends. Hey Frea!
This autumn, the legend of Merlin and Arthur of Camelot will be immortalised as an online game. Delivered in authentic style, MERLIN The Game is the new release from Bossa Studios, creators of BAFTA-winning game Monstermind.
Epitomising the enchanted myth with striking visuals and narrative, MERLIN The Game harnesses the power of real-time, co-operative play so when it comes to combat, no threats are ever faced alone. Together, gamers and fans of the BBC One and global hit TV show Merlin will be able to join the knights’ quests, fighting dark forces shoulder-to-shoulder with their friends and ensuring good triumphs over evil.
Imre Jele, creator in chief at Bossa Studios, comments: “We have carefully crafted the game to capture the very essence of the world’s most famous sorcerer. Players can explore magical lands while adventuring alongside trusty allies in the Crystal Cave, knocking out ferocious Wilddeoren rats or uniting with one of their favourite characters like Merlin or Arthur.”
Due to open in closed beta this summer at Comic-Con International (12-15th July, 2012), Bossa Studios is currently recruiting gamers and fans of the show to be some of the first lucky few to trial the game. The official public launch this autumn is set to coincide with the start of the fifth season of Merlin on BBC One.
Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps, executive producers at Shine TV and creators of the globally-televised smash hit, are thrilled with the quality of the game: “Each step allows the player to become more immersed into a wider universe of Camelot; we are amazed at the attention to detail. Fans of the show are sure to love the opportunity to create and follow their own destinies!”
