Two years ago, she wrote the made-for-TV Disney movie Lemonade Mouth and then she co-wrote (with Thomas Bezucha, Maria Maggenti and Kelly Bowe) the 2001 box office movie Monte Carlo that starred Selena Gomez, Katie Cassidy and Leighton Meester. Currently she is the series creator and writer for the popular ABC Family series Jane By Design.
On a personal note, April is married to producer Jake Weiner (A History of Violence and Leap Year) and is sister-in-law of author Jennifer Weiner.
