THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: Season 4 scoop from Julie Plec

This past weekend at the ATX Television Festival Julie Plec (creator), along with Jose Molina (writer) and Arielle Kebbel (Lexi) gave us some scoop on what’s to come in season 4. See the top 5 highlights below!

1. Stefan and Caroline will have a strong friendship- Julie said that she sees Caroline becoming Stefan’s future best friend, like Lexi. During Elena’s transition he will count on Caroline, and she will be a big support system for him and Elena. We can look forward to more Stefan and Caroline scenes in Season 4.

2. Bonnie’s father will be introduced– Julie confirmed “This year is a big year of transitions. It’s the end of senior year, and there’s a rich home life for everybody that we’re going to explore.” (Ooh I wonder who her father is going to be? I’ll be on the lookout for that casting call).

3. Klaus may return in the season premiere- Julie would not confirm or deny if Klaus will be in the season 4 premiere but she recently tweeted to Joseph Morgan “See you in Atlanta” so I’m thinking he will be back sooner rather than later (just a hunch, no confirmation from Julie Plec). Her quote was “We haven’t broken down the script yet, so it remains to be seen how long we’ll play Tyler as Klaus.”

4. We may not have seen the last of Alaric- Julie said “As long as Jeremy can see ghosts and Alaric is out there in the universe, then there’s a window there.” (Oh please bring nice Alaric back!)

5. Season 4 is full of OMG moments: Jose Molina gave the biggest tease of the day when he said, “I was staring and looking at everything we have planned [for season 4] and this stupid grin spread over my face. I was like, ‘They are going to sh*t.’ Already we have so many moments where people are going to freak.” (Ah! Really? Is that how you want to end it?)
