Nice Boys
NICE BOY OF THE WEEK: Michael Ealy
I am so excited about our nice boy of the week, Michael Ealy. I have been a huge fan of his for many years and he is everywhere right now. Fresh off the huge box-office hit Think Like A Man where he starred as Dominic, Mr. Ealy is a busy man.
Michael is known for his good looks, gorgeous blue eyes and his talent as a dramatic actor. He has been in movies like Kissing Jessica Stein, Barbershop, There Eyes Were Watching God (he gave a phenomenal performance as Tea Cake), Seven Pounds, and Takers to name a few. He has also graced the small screen in shows like Sleeper Cell (where he was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2007 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television), Californication and The Good Wife.
Michael is showing a different side of himself by taking on a comedic role on his new show, Common Law. Recently on a press call when asked about the role he said “I’ve always wanted to play a role which impacts. Travis, (his character on Common Law), is a hardnosed detective, but has a lot of heart and knows how to deal with people. He is one of the most likeable characters I think I’ve ever played.” He also said the silly side of his character Travis is a lot like him, so his fans (including myself) are excited to see his funny side.
I was extremely lucky to meet Mr. Ealy at the Atlanta Film Festival in 2009 while he was promoting a documentary film The People Speak, and I have to say he was genuinely a nice person. Talent, good looks, charm, and intelligence…what more can you ask for? He is the perfect choice for our Nice Boy of the Week.
You can catch Michael in movie theatres in Think Like A Man and Underworld: Awakening, and his new show Common Law premieres May 11th at 10/9c on USA. Michael recently joined Twitter and you can follow him @michaelealy.
