LOST GIRL: Advanced Review for Season 1 and Season 2 Episodes

Bo, Dyson and Lauren on Lost Girl

Are you a fan of the hit Canadian series Lost Girl, which is now in its second season for our friends to the North? Or, are you just getting hooked on the first season of the show thanks to its debut earlier this week on Syfy?

Well, if you answered yes to either question, you might just enjoy getting a sneak peek into the new episodes that will appear tomorrow night in Canada while the second episode of the first season will air here in the States on Monday night.

First, let’s take a look at what Canadian viewers (and those lucky enough to find the second season online) can look forward to watching tomorrow night with Bo and the gang on Lost Girl.

The episode, entitled “Midnight Lamp” will feature special guest star Lauren Holly (NCIS), who plays a world famous actress who is actually a Genie. But, unlike the image that we all have of a Genie – courtesy of the classic series I Dream of Jeannie – this particular Genie is nothing like the myth. Well, the only truth is that a Genie can be trapped in a lamp, but what is used as a lamp in this particular version just may surprise viewers.

Also, the mysterious stranger who appeared at Bo’s (Anna Silk) birthday party, presenting her with an interesting gold bracelet, reappears because he is to help Bo on her latest mission, as imposed by Lochlyn, The New Ash (the leader of the Light Fae).

There will also be a side story about Dyson (Kris Holden-Ried) coming to terms with the truth – that he cannot love Ciara – that he uttered to Wai Lin, Trick’s old-time friend (and former lover) who provided the drug that allowed Trick to go into the dream state in the last new episode. This will be a reveal that will shock the fans, especially those who are shippers for Bo and Dyson.

As for the episode that will air here in the States on Syfy – the second episode of the first season – the episode is entitled “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Fae”. The episode will find Bo working on her first case as a newly “minted” private investigator with Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) as not only her sidekick and best friend but also her investigative ‘assistant’.

Bo is approached by a ‘will-o’-the-wisp’ – what people know as a Jack-o-lantern, ghost or fairy – who needs help finding the person who stole his treasure. A will-o-the-wisp, according to legend and as shown in this episode, is a ghostly light seen at night over bogs, swamps or marshes that recedes if approached by travelers. In the Lost Girl version, though, the will-o-the-wisp is a member of the Fae and an older man, who makes a bargain with Bo that if she helps with this “treasure hunt” that he will provide her with information on her birth parents.

Needless to say, it’s going to be a couple of fun nights for TV viewers in Canada and the States when Lost Girl airs its new episodes.

The Sunday night episode – the 14th episode of the second season – will air in Canada on the Showcase Channel at 9 PM while the second episode of the first season will air here in the States on Monday night at 10 PM on Syfy.

NOTE: A recap of the Sunday episode from Canada will be featured here at NiceGirlsTV early next week.
