The PRETTY LITTLE LIARS Are Back For More Drama and Intrigue
The second season of Pretty Little Liars will be back on ABC Family starting on Monday, January 2 at 8 PM and it’s going to be one hell of a ride for the four girls – Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer – against the mysterious “A”.
Back in August, NiceGirlsTV had the chance to visit the set of the popular ABC Family Channel drama, getting the opportunity to talk to the cast about what to expect for the last half of the new season.
The following are excerpts from that visit:
BRENDAN ROBINSON:
Question: It sounds like you are going to be (more) prominently featured (when the show returns in January). Was that something that was discussed with you?
Brendan: Yes. I have been told some secrets of what’s coming up (that) I’m pretty sure the rest of the cast (don’t) know about yet. There is one episode (number 16, which is the third episode of the return) that I am (excited) to see (how) the rest of the cast (reacts) to what’s going on with my character.
Question: Is it mystery related?
Brendan: It is more mystery related.
Question: Will this bring Hanna and Lucas closer?
Brendan: Possibly. I would say so. It just kind of depends on how Hanna responds to whatever is going to happen.
TYLER BLACKBURN
Question: Will there be any bumps in the road with Caleb and Hanna in the second half of the season?
Tyler: No, I think they’re riding pretty strong honestly. I think they’ve been through a lot. And, the fact that he came back for her (has proven that) he has really redeemed himself I think it’s strengthened their relationship. If you look back, Hanna was not someone who was very open. She kept a lot of it in and Caleb brought a lot of that out and vice versa so they are very comfortable with each other.
Question: Where do you want to see your character go?
Tyler: Not to California. I have said that it would be awesome if he helped them solve the mystery of who “A” is, (as) I want a little adventure too.
Question: Are we going to meet his mom?
Tyler: I’m not sure, to be honest.
Question: Have we seen the last of Caleb’s days of crime? Will he give it up for the girl he loves?
Tyler: I think he has (done) a lot (of that) already. I think he is still going to have a little bit of that mentality (though). I think he is going to chill a little bit and not do anything too crazy but I think he has definitely softened because of Hanna.
ASHLEY BENSON
Question: (From) what we’ve heard about the second half of the season, the girls are pinned against each other. What is that like?
Ashley: It’s great; it’s so much fun. (Up until now the viewers have) seen us as such a tight-knit group and (with these new episodes we get) our own storylines. We’re not spending all our time with each other. We’re a little bit separated.
Question: What’s going to come up with the Kate situation?
Ashley: I don’t know. I just hope Kate leaves because she’s made Hanna’s life so miserable, but Hanna’s going to have to deal with her and all of her antics. She’ll have to deal with having a new step-sister and step-mom. She’s got a lot on her plate.
Question: Can you tell us where Hanna goes when the show comes back in January?
Ashley: We’re just all in a bad situation. In the last episode we’re caught in a really bad situation so (the next new episode) takes off from there. There are some things that we have to deal with (because) we’re not really getting along. That (situation) doesn’t help much and all our family lives (will) change after this last episode.
Question: What will we see for Hanna after the mid-season finale?
Ashley: I want to see how she handles her family life. There are so many things that changed for her: her dad and that whole situation. She wants her mom and dad to get back together. I want to see where all that goes. And how the friendship of the girls progresses.
IAN HARDING
Question: Are Aria and Ezra out in the open in the return?
Ian: A few people know but maybe not the most important people.
Question: Will (there be more time spent) at Hollis College during the return?
Ian: Yeah, I think so. We’re kind of off and on. Some episodes will be spent in Ezra’s office. We will be spending more time there with Byron and Ezra (too).
LUCY HALE
Question: What can you tell us about Aria when you come back?
Lucy: By the end, the girls are questioned by the police, so we pick up the second (half) after that scene. It’s sort of picking up where we left off. There is a change in the dynamic between the four of them. They are almost against each other when we come back and that’s something we’ve never really seen before. It’s their turn to play games with “A”.
Question: What do you want to see for Aria?
Lucy: I want to see Aria and Ezra finally man up and tell her parents. The girls are turning the tables on “A” and they are sort of gaining confidence. They’re going to rule this game. They are going to win this game so their confidence grows in that way.
With so much to anticipate for the return of Pretty Little Liars, please make sure to check out an all-day marathon on ABC Family of the current season on January 2, which will start at 11 AM and run all day, leading up to the return of the new episode at 8 PM.
