It’s Movie Mania on TV

They are coming!

What am I talking about, you ask? Well, the multitude of made-for-TV movies that will be rolling out on television over the next couple of months, of course.

Tis the season may apply to the holidays, but tis the season, when talking about TV, is a whole different story. There are so many telefilms set to air over the next few months that even avid TV viewers like those of us here at NiceGirlsTV will have a hard time keeping pace.

So, in order to help our readers keep track of what to expect in terms of made-for-TV movies over the holidays, here is a list:

Finding a Family

October 15 – Finding a Family on Hallmark Movie Channel

After his mother is critically injured in a car accident, a teenager sets out to find a new adoptive family for himself so he doesn’t have to give up his dreams of attending Harvard.

October 22 – Oliver’s Ghost on Hallmark Channel

An 11-year old boy with the ability to see ghosts helps the spirit of the deceased former owner of the house where the boy and his family relocate to move and leave their new home in peace.

The Good Witch's Family

October 29 – The Good Witch’s Family on Hallmark Channel

This is the continuing story of Cassie Nightingale and the Russell family, for whom Cassie has married into. With Cassie’s long-lost cousin in town and evil seeming to follow her, things will be turned upside down for the new family and the town.

October 29 – Possessing Piper Rose on Lifetime

A desperate couple goes to any lengths to adopt a child; but when a 3-year old girl arrives, strange and inexplicable events begin to happen that threaten the couples’ lives.

October 31 – The Killing Game on Lifetime

Ten year after the murder of her 7-year old son, a woman is taunted by the supposed killer. Based on the best-selling crime novel by Iris Johansen.

November 5 – Love’s Christmas Journey on Hallmark Channel

Widow Ellie King visit her sheriff brother Aaron and his two children during the Christmas holiday, but soon finds herself defending a young man accused of a crime he didn’t commit and possibly finding a new love.

November 6 – Mistletoe Over Manhattan on Hallmark

Worried that her workaholic husband (who just happens to be Santa Claus) has lost his holiday spirit, she heads to New York City (where she first fell in with Nick) and befriends Joe, a caring cop who is in the middle of a divorce. By helping Joe and his family, Mrs. Claus is able to show Santa that Christmas miracles are still possible.

Geek Charming

November 11 – Geek Charming on Disney

A snobby, popular high school junior agrees to become the subject of a documentary being made her high school’s film geek; and they soon discover they have more in common than expected.

November 12 – We Have Your Husband on Lifetime

A wife sets out to save her husband who is kidnapped from their Mexico home with the kidnappers demanded millions of dollars in ransom. Based on a true story.

November 12- Lucky Christmas on Hallmark Channel

Unlucky Holly is an out-of-work personal chef who ends up waitressing, has her car stolen and loses a lottery winning ticket left in the glove compartment of said stolen car. The car thieves find the ticket and plan a scheme to get a piece of the money except one of the thieves falls for Holly and maybe all their luck will soon change.

November 13 – Reel Love on CMT

Big city girl Holly comes back to her small hometown when her father suffers a heart attack; but, despite being told otherwise, all her dad wants to do is fish. Being stuck in her small town, gives Holly a chance to reconnect and remember the good things spent there and maybe makes her rethink wanting to get back to the big city.

November 13 – Cancel Christmas on Hallmark Channel

The Christmas Board of Directors demand that Santa make the holiday less commercial and material, giving him a daunting task to make privileged kids help a less fortunate boy or lose Christmas forever.

November 19 – The Case for Christmas on Hallmark Channel

Santa is being sued for ruining the holiday and a young lawyer helps to defend, finding love along the way and helping to save Christmas too.

November 20 – A Christmas Wish on Hallmark Channel

A woman is left homeless and virtually destitute by her crummy husband, leaving herself, her two daughters and stepson in deep trouble; but she finds help in the form of the residents of a sleep rural town.

Trading Christmas

November 26 – Debbie Macomber’s Trading Christmas on Hallmark Channel

House swapping galore for Christmas finds a Washington state mom making a surprise visit to her daughter’s college in Boston only to find that she’s not there (she’s in Phoenix with her boyfriend unbeknownst to mom) while an English professor from Boston is at the Washington mom’s house for solitude to finish his novel, being discovered by the mom’s best friend who is unaware of the temporary house swap. Calamity ensues with a holiday fare and some unexpected romance thrown in.

November 27 – Holiday Engagement on Hallmark Channel

A high-powered woman hires an artist to pretend to be her fiancé (she was jilted) in order to not disappoint her mother at Thanksgiving; but is the replacement really the “real thing”.

November 29 – Innocent on TNT

A judge is in big trouble when he is charged with the murder of his wife, 20 years after he is cleared in the death of his mistress. But that’s not all; a secret affair from the judge’s past could hamper his case and fracture his relationship with his son.

November 30 – Ricochet on TNT

Two homicide detectives find their careers, and lives, on the line when they get caught up in a case of murder and betrayal in high-society Savannah.

December 3 – A Princess for Christmas on Hallmark Channel

A twenty-something becomes an instant parent to her young niece and nephew when her sister and brother-in-law are killed in an accident. Unprepared for this new responsibility, things brighten for them when the children’s estranged grandfather invites them to castle in England (he’s a Duke) and the magic of Christmas works its wonder to heal past troubles.

Neverland

December 4 and 5 – Neverland on Syfy

A two-night prequel to the legendary tale of Peter Pan, in which the backstories of all the characters in Peter Pan world are told.

December 6 – Hide on TNT

A Boston police detective is on the case of the mummified remains of six young women, who have all been missing for years; which, in turn, leads her to a young woman who spent her childhood moving from city to city, from identity to identity, hiding from someone or something totally unknown. Based on the Lisa Gardner book.

December 7 – Silent Witness on TNT

A prominent defense attorney returns to his hometown to defend an old friend, a teacher accused of murdering one of his students. The case re-opens the heartache from the attorney’s own high school days, when he was a student falsely accused of murdering his first love. Based on the Richard North Patterson novel.

December 10 – Annie Claus Is Coming to Town on Hallmark Channel

Santa’s daughter sets out for adventure in California, finding friends at a local inn and getting work at a tradition toy store, where she starts to fall for the owner until a mischievous elf of Santa’s decides he wants to inherit the family business and has a Hollywood actor pretend to be after Annie’s love too.

December 11 – The Christmas Pageant on Hallmark Channel

An overly intense and demanding Broadway director gets fired from another job, leaving her no choice but to direct a small town holiday pageant. As she comes to terms with directing the pageant (and actually starts to enjoy the experience), she learns her former fiancé recommended her for the job, and begins to question everything.

December 13 – Good Morning, Killer on TNT

FBI Special Agent Ana Gray is an undercover operative tracking down a serial kidnapper; but she develops a rapport with the kidnapper’s latest victim, the suspect suddenly changes his pattern. Now Ana must race to find him before he strikes again. Adapted from the April Smith novel.

Christmas Comes To Canaan

December 17 – Christmas Comes Home To Canaan on Hallmark Channel

In this sequel, the Burton family has to deal with the aftermath of the youngest son’s accident (he was struck by a car while on his bicycle). The boy needs extensive orthopedic surgery and months of intensive physical therapy, which will be paid for by adopted son Rodney, who is now a famous writer. The rehab specialist for the boy soon becomes a special part of the family to all except the Burton daughter who wants to honor her late mother’s memory.

December 18 – Christmas Magic on Hallmark Channel

A successful event planner is involved in a terrible car accident and learns that she before she “passes over” to Heaven, she has to fulfill one last task before midnight on Christmas Eve – help a man whose restaurant/catering business is failing.

December 20 – Deck the Halls on TNT

A cleaning-woman-turned-private-eye and a detective investigate the kidnapping of detective’s father and a young female driver just before the holidays. The race is on to rescue the pair and get them home in time for Christmas. Based on the book by Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter Carol Higgins Clark.

Needless to say, there is a lot to watch over the next few months whether you like mysteries, teen comedies, touching family-based stories, scare-your-pants off suspense or Christmas fare. Get out your calendars and get ready for all the movie mania that is upcoming.
