TORCHWOOD: Nana Visitor, John de Lancie at the End of the Road
On tonight’s new episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day, airing at 10/9c on Starz, features two of my favorite sci-fi actors guest starring: Nana Visitor and John de Lancie.
Nana starred as Colonel Kira Nerys on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine while John was all over the Star Trek universe playing Q. I’ve known Nana for years, even running her official fansite although she’s been being a mom and focusing on her catering business in New Mexico for the last few years. My claim of acquaintanceship with John goes back to 2005 in Tulsa, OK. I was at a sci-fi convention, standing in line waiting for someone’s autograph (can’t remember whose now), when John tried to cut through the line to get to the other side. The person in front of me didn’t see him, so I had to tap them on the shoulder and say, “Could you make room for John de Lancie to get through?” I got a brief nod and smile from him as he walked past. Good times.
Anyway, they’re both in tonight’s episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day, titled “End of the Road”, apparently impeding Jack’s investigation. Here’s the official synopsis for the episode:
Jack (John Barrowman) faces a showdown with a man he thought was long since dead, while Rex (Mekhi Phifer) takes extreme action to prevent the collapse of society. Wayne Knight (“Seinfeld,” and Jurassic Park) continues his guest appearances as Brian Friedkin, a powerful Section Chief wielding great power first of three within the CIA.
