Having A Supernatural Time

Supernatural

This coming weekend I will be attending what has become a yearly event – the Salute to Supernatural convention held in Los Angeles. This annual fete is coordinated by Creation Entertainment and has quite an interesting line-up this year.

On Friday, the following Supernatural guest cast will appear at the convention: Katherine Boucher, who appeared as Lilith, Matt Cohen and Amy Gumenick, who appeared as young John and Mark Winchester (Sam and Dean’s parents) and Steven Williams, who plays fellow hunter Rufus Turner.

In addition to the appearance of these great guest stars throughout the day, there will be photo and autograph opportunities with them as well as an auction, trivia game and karaoke party.

Then on Saturday, more great guest stars will make an appearance, including Mark Sheppard, who played Crowley, Richard Speight, Jr., who has appeared as the Trickster, Traci Dinwiddie, who plays Pamela Barnes and series regulars Jim Beaver, who plays fellow hunter Bobby and Misha Collins, who is angel Castiel.

Once again, there will be autograph and photo opportunities with all of these cast members as well as another auction and a costume contest followed by a late-night dessert party with these cast members.

Lastly on Sunday, Jim Beaver will be back along with Brock Kelly, who has played teenage Dean in flashbacks. And, the men of the hour – Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki – will be on hand for an early breakfast with a pre-arranged group of fans and then all of them will be on stage for a fun Q&A with all the attendees.

There will, once again, be autograph and photo opportunities with all of the guests.

If you will be in Los Angeles, this weekend (February 11 to 13), think about attending the Salute to Supernatural convention at the Marriott Hotel located at the airport. You can find details about the costs as well as a full schedule for all 3 days – which should be posted soon – here.

Snow Patrol

Musician Spotlight: Snow Patrol are an alternative rock band from Northern Ireland that was formed during the members’ days at the University of Dundee in 1994. The current members of the band are Gary Lightbody (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Nathan Connolly (lead guitar and backing vocals), Paul Wilson (bass and backing vocals), Jonny Quinn (drums and percussion) and Tom Simpson (keyboards). The band released an EP called “Starfighter Pilot” in 1997 followed by the studio albums “Songs for Polarbears” in 1998 and “When It’s All Over We Still Have to Clear Up” in 2001. These albums were released by independent labels and were not successful. However, in 2002, the band signed with the major record label Polydor Records and released the album “Final Straw” in 2003, which brought them national fame. This album went on to sell over 3 million copies worldwide. Their next album “Eyes Open” was released in 2006 and with the hit single “Chasing Cars” the band was propelled to greater international fame. This album became the best-selling British album of the year and sold over 6 million copies worldwide. They released their album “A Hundred Million Suns” in 2008 and their first compilation album “Up to Now” in 2009. Among their hit singles are “Chocolate”, “Run” and “Open Your Eyes”.
