February TV Calendar

Here is what you can look forward to seeing on the major and cable channels throughout February, including new and returning shows as well as made-for-TV movies:

February – Breaking Bad will continue its marathon of back-to-back episodes every Wednesday night

February 4 – The Defenders will move to its new time slot on Friday nights at 8 PM on CBS

February 4 – Both Smallville and Supernatural will be back from a seven week hiatus with all new episodes on the CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively (these episodes were delayed from last week which was the original return date)

February 4 – The Hallmark Channel movie A Valentine’s Date will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Laura (Elisa Donovan) is a working mother who just wants to spend more time with her daughter Kelsey; but when Kelsey’s father Dylan (Brad Rowe) files for joint custody, Laura is forced to take Kelsey to Texas where she confronts the lifestyle and father (Tom Skerritt) she left behind. The film also stars John Schneider, Tracey Gold and Victoria Pratt.

February 5 – The Hallmark Channel movie Smooch – will air on February 5 at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Loosely based on the Brothers Grimm short story The Frog King, this version, Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) plays Zoe, a young girl obsessed by fairytales and happy endings who is searching for the perfect man for her widowed mother Gwen (Kellie Martin). It is Zoe’s belief in a frog’s potential charm that compels her to abduct one from her middle school science class, carrying him to Golden Gate Park in a water-filled lunchbox where she intends to set him free. Having skipped class, Zoe is surprised to see another schoolmate at the park, and in her anxiety, accidentally loses her green friend into a pond. As she surveys the scene, a male monarch (Simon Kassianides) in full royal regalia and who was mugged the night before, appears in a dinghy. The dazed prince, sporting a goose egg on his head, has little memory of who he is or how he got into such a predicament. But he is in luck. Zoe knows precisely how this fairytale ends.

February 6 – A special episode of Glee will air on FOX after Super Bowl XLV (check local listings for actual airtime)

February 6 – The Syfy movie Titanic II will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: An ocean liner sets sail and experiences an eerily similar fate as its doomed predecessor in the year 2012. The film stars Shane Van Dyke, Bruce Davison and Brooke Burns.

February 7 – The new FOX drama The Chicago Code will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: A group of dedicated Chicago police officers are determined to bring down building magnate turned politician Ronin Gibbons (Delroy Lindo) who is suspected of being dirty to the core. The cops are portrayed by Jason Clarke, Jennifer Beals, Matt Lauria, Devin Kelly and Todd Williams.

February 8 – New episodes of Glee will return to FOX at 8 PM

February 9 – Justified returns for its second season on FX at 10 PM

February 12 – The HBO movie The Sunset Limited will air at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson will star in this movie based on the Cormac McCarthy play.

February 12 – The Hallmark Channel movie Accidentally in Love will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Eddie James (Ethan Erickson), a disgruntled actor who wants to do more than play “Mulligan the Rabbit” on a children’s TV show, discovers life can change in a heartbeat when he accidentally gets into a car accident with single mother Annie Baker (Jennie Garth). In the unexpected friendship that develops between them, Eddie tries to help Annie’s nearly-blind daughter Taylor get an operation to restore her sight. The film also stars Fred Willard and Marilu Henner.

February 13 – The Grammy Awards will air on CBS at 8 PM

February 16 – Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior will debut on CBS at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: This spin-off series stars Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garafolo, Matt Ryan, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett and Kirsten Vangsness.

February 19 – The British original Being Human will be back with new episodes on BBC America at 9 PM

February 21 – The Lifetime movie Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy will air at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) will star in the lead role in this movie based on the infamous American exchange student accused by Italian authorities of killing her roommate. Marcia Gay Harden co-stars.

NOTE:  The Knox family has demanded that Lifetime pull this movie or else they will start legal action against the cable network so there is a chance the movie will not air.

February 24 – Laurence Fishburne will star in the HBO film Thurgood to air on the cable network on February 24 at 9 PM, as part of Black History Month.

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The one-man play stars Fishburne as Thurgood Marshall, the remarkable Civil Rights lawyer and Supreme Court Justice.

February 25 – Spartacus: Gods of the Arena will air its season finale at 10 PM on Starz followed by a sneak peek of the new series Camelot approximately at 11 PM

February 27 – The Academy Awards will air on ABC at 8:30 PM
