ABC Family

Facts of Life Star Back on TV

By  |

Mindy Cohn

Much like her once The Facts of Life co-star Molly Ringwald (who stars in the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager), actress Mindy Cohn (who played Natalie on the popular 80’scomedy) has joined the cast of the as-yet-to-be-titled ABC Family drama by Brenda Hampton, creator of the aforementioned Secret Life as well as the long-running family series 7th Heaven

Cohn will play Cecelia, the over-protective mom of an underachieving, but funny girl named Dylan to be portrayed by newcomer Ana Lucasey (who has appeared in episodes of Lie to Me and Medium).  The hour long project is to revolve around four ethnically diverse teenage girls who attend private school in California.  Rounding out the quartet of girls are Katelyn Tarver (Big Time Rush), Valerie Tian (Juno) and Christian Serratos (the Twilight franchise).

The cast will also include Brad Rowe (Tell Me You Love Me and the telefim Lucky 7) and Larry Clarke (Law & Order).

Mindy Cohn was one of the main stars of the long-running comedy The Facts of Life, which aired from 1979 to 1988, and focused on a group of girls attending a boarding school as they experienced the joys and the trials of adolescence.  For nearly the past decade, Cohn has been lending her voice to the Scooby Doo franchise, playing Velma Dinkley.  This will be her first big foray into television since her days on The Facts of Life.
