USA Wants More White Collar, Psych & Royal Pains
Not that we didn’t see this coming, but USA has officially renewed White Collar, Psych, and Royal Pains for additional seasons. With their original scripted programming pulling in broadcast network-sized numbers, this is a no-brainer. Royal Pains is second only to Burn Notice in ratings for the cable network, while White Collar and Psych have also performed well both in total viewers and in the 18-49 demo.
Burn Notice, In Plain Sight, Covert Affairs and Law & Order: Criminal Intent were renewed previously. USA also has several new series in development, including Facing Kate which premieres in January.
With so many original, and successful, shows on their schedule, USA has become a real contender for viewers and ad dollars in the past decade. TNT may have Emmys for The Closer‘s Kyra Sedgwick and AMC has several trophies for Mad Men, but USA’s ratings and programming stability are even more impressive in my opinion. Not that a couple of golden statues would be unwelcome.
