Fall TV Overload
Every September the new fall TV season easily provides any couch potato (or the even the regular viewer) with an overload of shows to watch. And, this fall is no different. There will be the returning favorites as well as all those new shows that will try to capture the attention of viewers. Whether these new shows catch on with the TV audience (or not) is anyone’s guess. But the fact still remains the same, there is going to be an overload of shows to watch.
This week, especially, is TV show heavy simply because this is the major premiere week for all of the networks. Case in point: Last night featured the debuts of Hawaii Five-0 on CBS, Lone Star on FOX as well as series premieres of The Event and Chase on NBC. And, among the returning favorites were Castle on ABC, Chuck on NBC and House on FOX.
Tonight, there will be the return of Glee on FOX as well as the season premieres of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles (which is on for two hours) on CBS. Also there are new episodes of Life Unexpected on the CW, Unnatural History on the Cartoon Network, Sons of Anarchy on FX and Parenthood on NBC. There is also the second part finale of Warehouse 13 on Syfy. Meanwhile over on ABC, the new cop drama Detroit 1-8-7 debuts.
Tomorrow will feature the return of Criminal Minds on CBS and a two-hour opener of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on NBC. New episodes of Terriers on FX and Hellcats on the CW will be shown while the new shows The Defenders on CBS, The Whole Truth on ABC and Undercovers on NBC will debut.
As we move later in the week, Thursday night will have Bones and Fringe back on FOX, the returns of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice will be on ABC, the season premieres of CSI and The Mentalist on CBS and the debut of the new ABC series My Generation. On top of all of those, there will be new episodes of The Vampire Diaries and Nikita on the CW.
Friday night will feature the return of Medium and CSI: NY followed by the debut of the new series Blue Bloods all on CBS. Smallville and Supernatural will have their season premieres on the CW and The Good Guys will be back on FOX. There are also new episodes of Haven on Syfy and Outlaw on NBC.
As the weekend rolls along, the following shows will reair on Saturday night on their respective networks: Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods on CBS and The Event, Chase and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on NBC. And lastly, on Sunday there will be the returns of Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters on ABC and Dexter on Showtime. There will also be new episodes of The Glades on A&E, Boardwalk Empire on HBO and Rubicon and Mad Men on AMC.
As you can see, there is going to be a lot of shows to watch this week; and while I won’t be watching all the shows listed above, I will be watching most of them. What shows are you looking forward to watching this coming week? Please share your thoughts.
