Nathan Fillion Asks Joss Whedon Very Important Question At Comic Con
Joss Whedon is the unofficial mayor of Comic Con. It’s true. Even with no projects coming out for months, he had his own panel again this year, with Ballroom 20 all to himself, and the room was packed. Opting for a casual approach with the fans, one of the many reasons we love him, Joss came out from behind the podium and alternately paced the stage or lounged against the long table while answering questions. Many had been asked before, but he never appeared annoyed by that. No, his trademark dry wit was on full display.
Eventually, someone stepped up to the microphone and asked a question that does come up regularly: having assembled something of a set company of actors, which one is Joss’s favorite to work with? This time, though, a ripple of interest started rolling through the crowd. The Nice Girls were seated just a few rows in front of the microphone, so we had a clear view of a slightly hunched, mustachioed man wearing a kangol and a…wait, is that a browncoat?
And that, friends, is one of the many reasons to attend Comic Con. It’s the unexpected moments, the ultimate geekouts, that keep us going back. I also bumped into Nathan on Sunday morning as he made his way to the Castle panel. Security at the press room/green room didn’t recognize him at first, which he handled good-naturedly. I was so amused by his amusement, I forgot to take a picture!
