Lee Pace Returns To TV With HBO
Pushing Daisies star Lee Pace is finally returning to our TV screens where we can see him every week, just as nature intended. Ausiello reports that Lee has been cast in HBO’s new drama pilot, Miraculous Year, alongside Linus Roache, Eddie Redmayne, Stark Sands, Hope Davis, Frank Langella, and Patti LuPone. Miraculous Year is the story of a New York family as seen through the eyes of a charismatic, self-destructive Broadway composer (Redmayne), described as a “light family drama.” Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow will direct the pilot.
Lee hasn’t been in the spotlight much recently, but he has been working a lot. He had supporting roles in A Single Man and When In Rome, was in the dreadful Marmaduke (you gotta pay the bills), and has three films in post-production for release later this year including Ceremony with Uma Thurman. None of these are prestige projects, aside from A Single Man, but it is nice to know one of our favorites has been steadily employed. Now it’s time for HBO to launch him back into the cultural consciousness so he’ll grace our screens for many seasons to come. We’ve missed you, Pie Maker!
