Melissa's Musings
Of Chuck, Mobs, and Fans!
It’s been a busy couple of weeks around Chez Melissa. In addition to writing about various shows here on NGTV, Liz and I also run ChuckTV.net, a fansite dedicated to NBC’s Chuck (watch it live tonight at 8/7c!). Chuck is on the bubble for renewal this year, so once again fans are taking it to the streets to show their support. This year we organized flash mobs in four different cities – Philly, Seattle, Chicago and San Diego – plus a Twitter mob component for those who can’t participate live. All of that is going down TODAY!
Organizing has largely fallen to me, while Liz and our podcast producer Gray will be responsible for a lot of the post-mob tasks. I’ve spent the last two weeks juggling finding leaders in the cities, signing up fans to participate, getting media coverage, and making sure everyone is on the same page, in addition to my real job and life, editing articles for this site, and keeping up with the rest of the Chuck news. It’s been a fun two weeks. I’m a little nervous now that we’re down to the wire and the mobs have to actually happen, but cannot wait to see what each group does. There are bubbles to be blown, subs to be eaten, songs to be sung, and more. With any luck, tonight’s ratings will be strong enough that NBC will announce a fourth season tomorrow and we can all celebrate.
And that’s why I didn’t write a column last week.
The End.
