Having a Supernatural Weekend

By  |

This past weekend I had the chance to go to a Creation Entertainment convention at the Marriott Hotel near the Los Angeles Airport with fellow Nice Girls Tiffany and Louise. The spotlight this weekend was on the popular CW series Supernatural. Over the course of three days, a number of cast members were the special guests of this annual convention, entertaining the hundreds of attendees with fun stories about behind-the-scene antics and other cool anecdotes about working on the set of this thriller.

I was able to attend some of the panels on Saturday and Sunday, including appearances by Misha Collins, who plays Castiel, the Angel who works with the Winchester brothers, and Jim Beaver, who plays fellow “hunter” Bobby.

During Misha’s one-hour Q&A session, he showcased his own special brand of humor, thrilling the audience with quirky quips and sarcastic answers to audience member’s questions. Later that day, Jim took over the stage for his one-hour Q&A session, regaling the audience with stories about stars Jared and Jensen and showing how terrific a dad he is to his daughter.

And then on Sunday morning, the men of the hour – Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (who portray the Winchester brothers in the series for those who are not aware) – took the stage together, making an impression on the audience with their camaraderie, quick wit and fun stories. They seemed very comfortable with each other and seemed unfazed by all the adoring fans, some of whom traveled thousands of miles just to see them.

I believe that Louise will be providing more details of the three-day fete, as she was able to attend much more of the convention than Tiffany and I; but for what time we were there, Tiffany and I enjoyed ourselves.

In the meantime, you can check out coverage that was provided by several reporters for the website Zap2It, who were there the entire weekend. You can start here and then click on more of their Supernatural coverage at the bottom of this link.

You can also learn more about Creation Entertainment and the conventions they hold all over North America that spotlight Supernatural, Stargate: SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis, Farscape, both Firefly and Serenity and the motion picture saga Twilight at their website.
