The Mentalist Snags Rigsby’s Real Life Wife

The Mentalist is one of those shows that allows for a weekly round of new guest stars, and once again the show is keeping it in the family. Lucy Davis, wife of Owain Yeoman (Wayne Rigsby), is set to guest on the May 6th episode of the CBS hit procedural. She’ll play Daphne, the widow of a victim of an apparent home invasion.

“It’s the first time we’ve worked together,” Owain told TV Guide Magazine. “She’s playing Daphne, the widow of the episode’s murder victim—a very cute, sweet, unassuming woman, just like my Luce.”

Cute, sweet, and unassuming are just the traits Lucy needed when she played Dawn in the BBC version of The Office. Her road to happiness with Tim was filled with moments both achingly tender and laugh out loud funny. (They were the Jim and Pam of the original series.)

Lucy was also a regular on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and starred in the cult hit Shaun of the Dead. It will be fun to see what she brings to her guest spot on The Mentalist, and whether she gets to keep her adorable accent.

Lucy joins Rebecca Rigg, wife of The Mentalist star Simon Baker, on the list of spouses who have guested on the show. Rebecca appeared in last season’s episode “A Dozen Red Roses”.
