Psych Gets Fifth Season, Roday Faces “Extinction”

By  |

With season four not even finished yet, USA announced yesterday that they’ve renewed Psych for a fifth season, to debut in Summer 2010. Hurrah! The second half of the fourth season is due sometime in January; stay tuned for the exact date.

Meanwhile, star James Roday continues to expand his horizons with a starring role in the play Extinction, presented by Red Dog Squadron, a theater company co-founded by Roday. Extinction is the story of two friends who grapple with growing apart. How do men deal with issues within a friendship?

“Everything is so much more suppressed when it comes to male friendships because there are things you’re not supposed to talk about. You’re not supposed to feel things and you’re not supposed to say, ‘Hey dude, I’m really having some problems with you. Can we sit down and talk about it?’ That’s not really the cool thing to do when you’re guys,” says Roday.

Read more about the play here, and if you’re in the Los Angeles area, catch it at Elephant Space on Santa Monica Blvd. weekends through December 13. Ticket info is here.
