Well, it could be. Eric Kripke only planned for five seasons of the CW hit series. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who play the Winchester boys on the show, are also not that keen on continuing. Really, when you think about it, the way the story is going, it has to have an ending after the ultimate battle between good and evil. After this apocalyptic battle, what’s left?
‘Despite what the network and studio may or may not want, I don’t have more than five seasons of story,” he said. “I certainly would be willing to make sure there are enough villains and heroes around to continue a new story line, and I would be around to answer a few questions — that’s it. I’m outta here. There’s no way I’m doing season 6.” (Source.)

I find it ironic that after fighting for 4 years for our little show that could while the media practically ignored it, now they are finally wanting it to continue. Too bad they couldn’t take enough interest before. I say let the show end when Kripke wants it to end. I’m satisfied that the Little Show That Could, if fact, Did.
I love Supernatural very, very much but I’d agree that there’s a natural end and if the creator of the show feels that end is coming at the end of Season 5, then I am okay with it. But please don’t leave any loose ends unless I’m getting a movie out of it.
