NGTV Guide: Thursday, April 9
As if ZZ Top and gay basketball players weren’t enough to keep us glued to our TVs tonight, NBC is also premiering their new comedy, Parks and Recreation. Will you be trying it out? Also premiering tonight: Harper’s Island on CBS. It’s going to be scary good! (Have you entered our contest yet?)
Bones – Fox 8/7c
“The Science in the Physicist” – The death of a physicist leads Brennan and Booth to a well-known research institute, where the deceased had been part of a controversial study that was likely the reason for a number of threats against her life. Meanwhile, Sweets intervenes when Angela’s father, ZZ Top guitarist Billy F. Gibbons, comes looking for Hodgins.
Samantha Who? – ABC 8:30/7:30c
“The Amazing Racist” – Sam decides she needs to improve her friendship with Frank after a series of misunderstandings; Andrea fears that the perks that come from dating a basketball star will cease after her boyfriend is outed as being gay.
Parks and Recreation – NBC 8:30/7:30c
“Make My Pit a Park” – In the series pilot, mid-level bureaucrat Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) takes on what should be a fairly simple project: turn an abandoned construction site into a community park, but navigating the local government of Pawnee, Ind., proves to be quite the challenge. Ann: Rashida Jones. Tom: Aziz Ansari. Mark: Paul Schneider.
30 Rock – NBC 9:30/8:30c
“Cutbacks” – Joy about the 50th “TGS” episode turns to worry when word spreads about imminent budget cuts at 30 Rock. Before long, Jack must distribute pink slips, Kenneth takes on new responsibilities, and Liz wheels and deals to spare her staffers from layoffs. Meanwhile, Jenna and Tracy suspect that Kenneth is masking a deep dark secret.
Harper’s Island – CBS 10/9c
“Whap” – The series about a wedding party on an isolated island whose members are killed off one by one begins with the guests boarding a yacht and traveling to the island. But before they depart one person is murdered, although no one is aware of the death. Later, the bride’s ex-boyfriend shows up uninvited, and the killer claims another victim.
