NGTV Guide: Wednesday, October 1
More season premieres tonight mean the Nice Girls will once again be putting those DVRs to good use. Here’s what we’ll be watching on Wednesday, October 1:
Bones – Fox 8/7c
Have you noticed a new level of banter between Booth and Bones this season? And how about last week’s major reveal from incarcerated Zack? Good stuff happening this season! Tonight, the dynamic duo (plus the Squints) (plus the new Intern) investigate the death of an office manager with a disgruntled employee as their prime suspect.
Pushing Daisies – ABC 8/7c
It’s the season premiere of a Nice Girls favorite! We don’t talk about the show much here, but we’re big fans of the adventures of Ned, Chuck, Olive, Emerson, Lily, Vivian, and Digby. On tonight’s season premiere – titled “Bzzzzzzzzz!” – Chuck goes undercover as a “Bee Girl” at a honey-based cosmetics company after their new spokesmodel (guest star Autumn Reeser) is stung to death. She soon discovers that office politics are killer (literally) between the founder (guest star Missi Pyle as Betty Bee) and the new owner (guest star French Stewart as Woolsey Nicholls). Meanwhile, Ned can’t stand her growing independence – or the fact that she wants to move out of his apartment. In other developments, Lily spirits Olive off to a nunnery so she won’t spill Lily’s deep, dark secret.
Dirty Sexy Money – ABC 10/9c
Another Nice Girls favorite for its sheer soapiness, Dirty Sexy Money returns tonight to give us more of the Darling clan and their handler, Nick George. In tonight’s episode, “The Birthday Present”, Tripp and Letitia Darling throw Nick a lavish birthday party on a yacht, despite the fact that the day before, Nick and his wife, Lisa, had been planning to celebrate privately. That was before Tripp called Nick to broker a reconciliation between himself and his eldest son, senatorial candidate Patrick, who’s going through a rough patch in his own marriage as he searches for his missing transgendered mistress. Meanwhile youngest son Jeremy reveals his feelings for Lisa to the lovely and mysterious Nola Lyons; the relationship between Karen and Tripp’s nemesis, Simon Elder, enters a new level of intimacy; the de-frocked Brian [speaking of dirty!] is reunited with his illegitimate son; the whole Darling family is dealt a blow by the death of one of their own, and someone is arrested for murder.
Lipstick Jungle – NBC 10/9c
The second episode of the season is titled “Chapter Nine: Help!” This doesn’t bode well for our heroines! While Nico starts to get back on her feet, Victory meets a handsome new guy and Wendy makes a compromising decision to help a friend.
