From Variety: Diane Ruggiero is leaving the show.

For this Nice Girl, Diane was one of the draws for this show. I was looking to see the same spark she brought to Veronica Mars to this, and I suppose that the first six episodes will be all I’ve got left.

I’m choosing to ignore the potential implications about the show until October 3 when the show premieres.
