Now we’re shopping for two!

One of my favorite parts about Weeds is watching as the storylines quickly change and set up the larger issue for the season.

While I didn’t talk about last week, it was the necessary step along the way to getting Nancy fulled entrenched into working with Guillermo. Running to the border for all of that loot wasn’t her ideal, nor did it go her way, but at least there’s a new situation she finds herself in.

At the start of this week, we find Nancy, Guillermo and his crew looking down at a very scared Celia. Oops, Celia! Working for the DEA might not have been a great idea. Some physical violence and a missing tooth later, and Celia is not “helping” Nancy as her number two. Just what Nancy always wanted.

Meanwhile, Andy is trying to get back from the border with some border crossers, which isn’t as fun as it looked on Heroes last season. Eventually Andy befriends a nice Honduran woman who’s had the price of her trip continually increased. After Andy accidentally shoots the guy leading their trip to Iowa, Andy takes the woman and one of her friends back home.

Nothing had gone right there, either, while Nancy was out dealing with Celia and Andy is trekking across the desert. Silas had to move his plants out of the van and into the house, and in his effort to ventilate the closet, hits a beehive.

By dinnertime, Nancy has assembled her new extended family for dinner, before explaining that things are going to change. Doug may have to go back to Agestic, Celia will be staying for a bit, and Nancy will be working for a Maternity shop as a front for Guillermo. Color everyone not impressed.

The episode ended with Nancy finally talking to Celia’s sleazy DEA friend about what he should be doing with his time on her case, before lays out her mundane days at the shop.

As Weeds does each week, the episode ends with Nancy discovering a large trench has been build into the floor of the store room from somewhere.

Looks like things are really heating up, despite the banality of the maternity shop.

Roz lives in the Los Angeles area, and has been a long time California girl. Despite her better judgment, she enjoys shows about the shallow sides of her home city, but will also find time to watch iZombie, Jane the Virgin, and much more. With a love of history, she also watches anything that is grounded in real life, including Victoria and black-ish. Having worked with children, she also follows shows she knows they watch (reminding her of those days of yore for her in the process). Contact her at roz@nicegirlstv.com.
