NiceGirlsTV.com was born out of a desire to write about and discuss our favorite TV shows featuring strong female characters. Because we fall into the female 25-49 demo, we decided to indulge our girliness and be as pink and frilly as we wanted. But don’t worry, we won’t forget to bring the snark.
Meet The Nice Girls
Editor in Chief
Melissa is a Kansas native with a love of TV and the Internet, happily combined at NGTV. When she’s not in front of the TV or computer (or both!), she enjoys reading, cooking, scrapbooking, and traveling. Melissa is addicted to British period dramas, especially romantic fare from Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell. Her current favorite shows include The Mindy Project, The Good Wife, The Goldbergs, black-ish, Sherlock, How to Get Away with Murder, Lucifer, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. She is delighted that The X-Files is back on television. Contact her at email@example.com.
Liz is a wife and mother of three from the Nashville area who likes being able to discuss her favorite TV shows with adults sometimes. She is addicted to the Sookie Stackhouse novels and was a huge fan of the HBO series based on the books, True Blood. Her other favorite shows include Chuck, Grimm, Sleepy Hollow, Pretty Little Liars, Blindspot, Heroes Reborn, The Goldbergs, Sleepy Hollow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter just to name a few. Contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Using her favorite online handle, Rueben is an East Coast-bred gal who is now a permanent Californian and a lifelong tv-oholic. She watches at least 25 TV shows a week, goes to the movies as often as possible, listens to music every waking moment, reads every day and “plays” on the internet every chance she can. Some of her current favorite TV shows are Castle, Supernatural, NCIS, Doctor Who, The Blacklist, Teen Wolf, Pretty Little Liars, Lost Girl, The Shannara Chronicles, Arrow, When Calls the Heart, Switched at Birth, Marvel’s Agent Carter, Jane the Virgin, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Outlander, The Flash and The Fosters (among others). She loves to write about all things TV. Follow her @ruebenrambling on Twitter or contact her at email@example.com.
Roz lives in the Los Angeles area, and is a long-time California girl. Despite her better judgment, she enjoys shows about the shallow sides of her home city, but will also find time to watch iZombie, Jane the Virgin, Arrow and much more. With a love of history, she also watches anything that is grounded in real life, including Downton Abbey and Manhattan. Having worked with children, she also follows shows she knows they watch (reminding her of those days of yore in the process). Contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cay lives in the Boston metro area and admits to being a long-standing “pop culture junkie”. Her favorite shows are Chuck, Bones, 30 Rock, Person of Interest, and Ringer. Previous obsessions included Alias, Lost and The X-Files. Cay’s coworkers find it hard to believe her insistence that she watches less than an hour of TV a night because she always seems to know what’s going on no matter what show they are talking about. Her family just thinks that she’s “special”. In the hours that she’s not watching TV, Cay can be found reading Entertainment Weekly, cooking, or participating in any one of many outdoor activities. Contact her at email@example.com.
Lisa lives in Atlanta and is our southern connection to all things Hollywood South. She is an Actor who is always out and about. She loves to read, dance and have a good time with friends. Karen lives in Northern VA, but she left her heart in Central California. When she’s not queuing up a TV show playlist on her media drive, she’s likely to be found gaming or reading. Her love of Comics, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy translates into her love of shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. Karen’s list of favorite shows also include Castle, Chuck, Fringe, Parks & Recreation, Community, Archer, Psych, Justified, and Misfits – just to name a few. Contact her at email@example.com.
Leah prefers rain to sun making Seattle the perfect place for her. Some people have hobbies like arts and crafts – Leah watches TV. Her favorite shows range from Law & Order to Scrubs and everything in-between. You can find her on twitter @IamPollyP or contact her via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Frea is a Midwestern writer and blogger with far too little time on her hands and far too many dogs (four at last count, though three of them are small). She’s an avid TV fan and an even bigger Fringe fan. A writer by day and a writer by night (…wait a second…), she spends hours of that time she doesn’t have concocting scenarios to torture imaginary people in her head. Sometimes she even gives them a happy ending. Her favorite TV shows include Gilmore Girls, Fringe, Chuck, Everwood, Castle, Body of Proof, and Downton Abbey. She can be found on her own blog at Castle Inanity or on Twitter. Drop by and say hi. She bites, but she’s had her shots. Contact her at email@example.com.

Other favorites include Leverage and Nikita Rae lives in the Kansas City metro area and spends most of her free time with her husband and 12 (and counting!) grandchildren.
Genevieve was our junior correspondent, representing the next generation of Nice Girls. Now in the 11th grade, her focus is on school, youth group, and missions work. She is still a huge fan of Chuck and Merlin. With 9 younger siblings, she gets to watch a lot of “kid shows”, too.
