Rueben's Ramblings
Get Out and Vote
Today is Super Tuesday, the day when 15 states – and one US territory, American Samoa to be exact – hold their presidential primaries and caucuses.
Those 15 states include: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.
As adults know, this is the day when votes are cast in the primary elections to help determine who will be the Republican and Democratic presidential nominees as well as helping to determine who will be on the November ballot in Congressional races.
Politics is never any easy subject to discuss in person nor in writing because unless you see eye-to-eye with the person to whom you are conversing – or in this case with the writer – then things could get quite dicey. And, talking about politics when you are known for providing entertainment news, well that is a whole different situation.
In fact, I wrote about this very issue back in September 2020 – at the height of the COVID pandemic, I might add – sharing details about my small town upbringing, my avoidance of anything political-motivated for 20 years and the importance of getting out to vote that year to make a change for the better.

Needless to say, that election was contentious, bringing about the January 6th insurrection on our Capitol and booting out a man from the White House who should have never been there in the first place. And now, four years later, the American people are at a crossroads yet again still having to deal with that man wanting to get back into a position of power that he does not deserve.
You may or may not agree with my stance where this man is concerned, but at the very least I hope you have done your civic duty and placed your vote; or at the very least, if you are not part of the 15 states that vote on Super Tuesday, that you will make your vote count when the time is right in your home state.
