Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Roundtable: “All Roads Lead…”

By  |

Friday night’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finally found Ruby getting what she wanted: getting into the capsule to transform her; but things didn’t exactly play out as she thought it would.

Here is the official tagline for the episode entitled “All Roads Lead…”:

“The team must find a way to stop Ruby before the prophesized chain reaction that can destroy the Earth is put into motion.”

Please join Rueben and Karen as they talk about what went down:

OMG, Ruby only had 8% gravitonium and she was that powerful. Can you imagine what could have happened with more than that?

Karen: OMG is right. I cannot! Is it wrong that I took great delight in her screaming while in the capsule?

Rueben: Nope, you and me both. Only one small part of me felt bad for her as she is (sort of) a human being, but the rest of me was like, yeah, let that little b*tch suffer!

Another OMG, Yo-Yo sliced Ruby’s neck! Did you see that coming? Do you think that was the right move, and do you think that might have altered the future?

Karen: SO. HAPPY. She so deserved it. I wasn’t sure what would take her down, but man, am I happy she’s deadski. At least, her body is. I think it’s 100% the right move, although whether it altered the future or has other consequences, I just don’t know.

Rueben: I have to admit that I was shocked that Yo-Yo did it! I mean, I get WHY she did it, I just wasn’t expecting her to actually DO it. Sure, Ruby deserved it, but I just wasn’t expecting it at all. I have a bad feeling that that isn’t going to be the end of her though, as we really don’t know what all that gravitonium is able to do, right?!

Deke finally admitted that he has feelings for Daisy, after Coulson and Mack give him a hard time about that. Do you see something being said to Daisy about it; and how she might react?

Karen: The funniest part of this episode. DEKE. He’s adorable, and the whole “lemons” nickname, that’s gotta stick, right? He’s gonna give her citrus at some point, and Daisy is going to be stymied. Coulson and Mack giving him crap was hysterical. Asking him if he was wearing cologne, telling him about his drug-induced confessions, just… everything. SO. GREAT.

Rueben: I don’t think I could have said it any better. I did almost pee my pants a little with the whole “leave a lemon on her bunk” thing. Too funny! This will be a great little side gag with Mack and Coulson giving him grief.  I cannot wait for Daisy’s reaction to this little nugget of truth, as she’s not gonna like it one bit.

May is shutting Coulson out. Do you see him pushing the issue now that she said “I love you?”

Karen: Yes. He won’t let her get away with putting up a wall right now. Not knowing that his clock is ticking. He has nothing left to lose. Coulson knows not to push her when there’s a mission on her mind (and a mind on her mission LOL), so timing will be everything.

Rueben: Is there a good time for Coulson to corner her or push the issue. Maybe, maybe not. But it’s sure going to be interesting to see his next approach and the one after that and the one…well you get the picture.

Holy crap, Mack shot Talbot. Do you think he wounded him or killed him?

Karen: I’ve thought he was dead before, so I’m not going to predict his death again. Who knows? Talbot was going to take himself out, so if I *had* to guess, I’d say Mack just wounded him in order to stop the suicide.

Rueben: As difficult as it has been to like Talbot, it’s kinda hard to completely hate him especially given what Hale did to him. I don’t want him to be dead, but I’m hoping that the shock to his system for the gunshot wound will maybe help get his head right.

What do you think happened when that blast took place as Ruby’s dead body floated up and then exploded?

Karen: I’m totally stumped there! We’re gonna find out soon I’m sure, and it’s not going to be something good. Have we started the chain reaction of destruction? Was it a release of the gravitonium? They may have already put themselves on the path to the future without knowing it.

Rueben: I freaked out a little when her body let loose like that, watching that wave flow out of the building. Perhaps that is how the whole fall of the Earth gets started – little by little instead of ONE big action?
