Do You Remember: Jack & Bobby

By  |

Back in September of 2004, a new drama series was introduced on The WB (now known as The CW) called Jack & Bobby. The series was a faux documentary about the early life of Bobby McCallister, a progressive fictional President of the United States, who served from 2041 to 2049. The series was set in present day, focusing on the teenage years of Jack and Bobby McCallister and their mother, Grace, a college professor who held a great deal of influence over them both, especially Bobby.

The series debut on September 12, 2004, airing 22 episodes of the course of its first season, ending on May 11, 2005. It was only a few days later that The WB announced they would not be renewing the series that was created by author and screenwriter Brad Meltzer and now uber-TV producer Greg Berlanti [among others].

The lead cast included Christine Lahti (Chicago Hope and The Blacklist) as the McCallister boys’ mother Grace; Matt Long (Mad Men and Private Practice) as older brother Jack and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson franchise and The Perks of Being a Wallflower) as Bobby.

Other members of the main cast included Jessica Pare (Mad Men), Edwin Hodge (Chicago Fire, Sleepy Hollow and Six), Keri Lynn Pratt (Veronica Mars and Smallville), John Slattery (Mad Men) and Bradley Cooper (Alias and Guardians of the Galaxy).

Jack & Bobby also featured the following actors and actresses in either recurring or guest starring roles:

Kate Mara (Fantastic Four and The Martian)
Cam Gigandet (Ice and The Magnificent Seven)
Evan Handler (Sex and the City)
Kyle Gallner (Veronica Mars and Outsiders)
Tom Cavanagh (The Flash and Ed)

Adina Porter (The 100 and Underground)
