Advanced Review: GOOD WITCH Celebrates Halloween

By  |

The first season of the new weekly series Good Witch aired on the Hallmark Channel from February 28 through April 18, winning a second season renewal shortly thereafter.

In preparation for the show’s upcoming second season – which will air sometime in 2016 – a special two-hour sneak peek called Good Witch Halloween will air this Saturday.

As fans of the movie franchise and the series know, Cassie Nightingale (series lead Catherine Bell) is believed to have, let’s say, “special powers” (ergo the Good Witch title) to the residents of her quaint town of Middleton where she owns and operates not only the eclectic business known as the Bell, Book and Candle but also the legendary Grey House Bed & Breakfast.

Grey House is one of the focal points of the town’s annual Harvest Festival and given the family’s history in the town as well as their love of Halloween, it is vitally important that Grey House be decked out for the spooky “holiday”.

But getting in the way of those preparations are new Grey House guest Joseph (guest star Jeff Pangman), a handsome stranger (are there any other kind?), who seemingly is holding a grudge against Cassie’s but also some mean girls at Grace’s (series lead Bailee Madison) school, who are causing her to dislike the “special powers” she inherited from her mother but also making her dislike Halloween.

The levity in the two-hour sneak peek is provided by Dr. Sam Radford (series lead James Denton), who is desperately attempting to create the most memorable haystack maze in time for the town’s Harvest Festival, the competition between Cassie’s cousin Abigail (Sarah Power) and local café owner Stephanie (Kylee Evans) in their bids to win the crown of Harvest Festival Queen and the over-the-top antics of town mayor Martha (Catherine Disher) as she tries to put on the very best Harvest Festival the town has ever seen.

Is Sam able to create the haystack maze in time? Who wins the title of Queen? Does Martha reach her goal? Does Cassie figure out what Joseph is after? Can Grace overcome the bullying and enjoy Halloween again?

You will have to tune in to Good Witch Halloween on the Hallmark Channel this Saturday, October 24 at 9/8c to find out all the spooky details.

Good Witch will return for the start of its official second season sometime in 2016.
