COMMUNITY: Basic Human Anatomy

For their final History project, the group has to pick one moment in history and tell Cornwallis about it. Annie and Shirley are pushing for a project that will get them a good grade, but Jeff wants none of that on a Friday.

After Jeff tries to end any hard work, Annie and Shirley ask what Britta and Troy are doing to celebrate the one year anniversary of their first date. But that idea is trumped by Troy and Abed remembering that it’s been three years since they first watched Freaky Friday. Troy even bought Abed tons of body-swap movies, and at the right moment, Troy and Abed wish to switch places for a day.

That can’t be bad at all.

The next morning, however, the body-swap actually worked. The boys figure that out and have a moment to examine what they’re working with now. (Awkward!)

Before Troy and Abed meet the group, Annie goes over what the group will be doing for their banners for the project on the American Revolution. Eventually Troy and Abed tell the story of their body-swap and the group is not impressed.

Jeff, despite his best show, actually cares about Troy and Abed so after a moment, he goes to buy another copy of Freaky Friday so that Dean Pelton can give it to Troy and Abed and the body-swap will be over. But, being that it’s Dean Pelton and Jeff, they also have the similar moment as Troy and Abed. Will they switch bodies now too?

On their date, Britta’s trying to push “Troy” for details, but that gets interrupted by a guy who wants to argue with Abed about how awful Die Hard is as a movie. Nothing stops “Troy” from responding and just then, Jeff and “Abed” are trying to talk through the process of getting things back in order. Turns out, Jeff bought the remake of the movie, with the fortune cookie, and now the one used yesterday.

Annie and Shirley pop into Pelton’s office to find out about Leonard’s grade (he had an A in 1962 and now takes all his classes Pass/Fail now), but Pelton’s Jeff impression has Annie riled up at the end (a shirtless Dean isn’t bad to look at, let me be honest).

Back at Senor Kevin’s, it seems that things aren’t really as good for Britta and Troy.

Leonard seems to be taken down easily enough and now Annie and Shirley can really fight each other.

Jeff’s trying to get the movie found to end the problem, but “Abed”’s finally realizing that he doesn’t understand relationships, especially the one between Britta and Troy, when all Troy wants to do is actually break up with Britta because they’ve been working too hard at their relationship for a while now.

The moment in the Lost and Found continues as Jeff makes the case for why commitment isn’t a bad thing – that it’s putting yourself out there for someone else, and as Jeff finishes, Senor Kevin’s is the scene of the breakup. Only that is interrupted by Jeff and “Abed” coming in and stop it, briefly. Troy and Abed switch back and then Troy mans up and admits that he’s a better friend to Britta than a boyfriend.

Somehow, Annie’s number two in the class and Shirley’s number one, and while the group was gone, Pierce make all the banners for their project. They look pretty good, and Pierce took twenty-five minutes to complete.

Dean Pelton apologizes for his behavior (and has more awkward ‘Jeff was inside me’ comments than I want to hear ever again), just before he goes to apologize to Leonard and grant him three wishes. There’s something in the by-laws that should be discussed, but not now.

The tag this week is fake outtakes. That’s something different.

Community airs on Thursday nights at 8/7c, on NBC.
