This Week’s Highlights and What’s To Come

Here are some highlights of what happened this week in TV News and a quick look at what’s to come:

The MTV Movie Awards were given out on Sunday with the big winner being Twilight.

Actor Kadeem Hardison will appear on future episodes of “Greek” and actor Myketi Williamson will join next season’s “24”.

Country singer Shelby Lynne and actress Kelly Bishop (Gilmore Girls) will be featured in episodes of this season’s “Army Wives”.

Rumors ran amok that Brian Austin Greene (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) would join One Tree Hill, in lieu of the departing Chad Michael Murphy, but those rumors seem to be false.

Famke Janssen will return for the final season of Nip/Tuck.

SPOILER ALERT:  The final David Tennant Doctor Who special will supposedly feature three weddings; that of Rose (Billie Piper), Martha (Freema Agyeman) and Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen).

Chandra Wilson (Grey’s Anatomy) and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) will announce the Emmy nominations on July 16.

Stargate: Universe will debut on the Sci-Fi Channel on October 2.

Season 2 of Legend of the Seeker is underway, but scheduled airdates have yet to be announced.

Madeline Zima (Californication) and Robert Knepper (Prison Break) have joined the cast of Heroes.  Deanne Bray (Sue Thomas, F.B.Eye and The L Word) and Ray Park (Darth Maul from The Phantom Menace) also joined the cast of Heroes.

RIP, Mr. David Carradine!!  *Moment of silence, please!*

One of Mr. Carradine’s last performances, as a patient on the new FOX drama “Mental,” will air on Tuesday, June 9 at 9 PM.  The episode is still expected to air despite his untimely death.

FOX aired a commercial for their new fall musical/dramedy “Glee” and introduced a new moniker, “I’m a Gleek”, which seems to be a familiar saying among critics and fans alike.

CBS will air The Tony Awards on Sunday, June 7 at 9 PM.

Army Wives will return for a third season on Lifetime on Sunday, June 7 at 10 PM.

The Closer will return for another season on TNT, Monday, June 8 at 9 PM followed by the second season premiere of Raising the Bar at 10 PM.

The second to last episode (EVER!) of Pushing Daisies will air on ABC on Saturday, June 13 at 10 PM.

True Blood’s second season will be back on HBO on Sunday, June 14 at 9 PM.
