It’s been a while…

Much of this summer I’ve been watching Weeds, but I found myself out of the habit of talking about it here.

However, I’m sitting here, watching this week’s episode and I feel the need to talk about the crazy things going on here.

Since I last talked about the show, Nancy has found herself a new man, this time with even more power than anyone last season. New guy this time around is the mayor of Tijuana, who’s also the money behind all of the pot she’s distributing.

Nancy’s extra time with Esteban has meant that Celia has been running the store. Not before she gets herself addicted to heroin. Now she’s spending time sneezing blood on everyone and being more insane than before. Next week looks like it’ll be part “A Very Special Weeds” with the message that harder drugs than marijuana are bad for everyone.

However, the rest of the Botwin boys aren’t without their problems either. Andy and Doug have started to coyote, in an effort to find one women Doug wants to date. They’ve been successful, but not at finding Doug’s dream girl.

Silas, on the other hand, has fallen for the hot woman who runs a cheese store in town to the tune of sleeping over and moving his pot into her back room. Some of the scenes with them are pretty hot, if I can say that, but their relationship slows down (thankfully, because I didn’t need another season of Silas clinging to another woman.)

Shane, tried of being the school loser, has taken steps to promote a touch image by beating the crap out of the cool kids at school. He also found some old picture of Nancy that Jonah had before and started to explore his body while looking at it (oh man, there is no good way to talk about that.)

Between those two, Nancy had a nice heart-to-heart with each of them about sex (which might be the most awkward conversation I’ve seen on the show.)

Roz lives in the Los Angeles area, and has been a long time California girl. Despite her better judgment, she enjoys shows about the shallow sides of her home city, but will also find time to watch iZombie, Jane the Virgin, and much more. With a love of history, she also watches anything that is grounded in real life, including Victoria and black-ish. Having worked with children, she also follows shows she knows they watch (reminding her of those days of yore for her in the process). Contact her at roz@nicegirlstv.com.
