While March is typically known as a time of repeats for the major networks, the influence of year-end cable programming is finally catching on with the five bigwigs (i.e., ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and The CW). Over the last few years viewers have assuredly noticed the proliferation of programming on the major networks throughout the TV season not just in …

It is 24 hours before the workshop takes place and everyone involved in Marilyn the Musical is feeling the stress, including the studio itself as it seems the boiler isn’t working, making it entirely too hot inside. The heat doesn’t dissipate once Michael and Julia meet up either, getting caught in close quarters by her writing partner Tom and, once …

When you are a singer/dancer/actor in New York City (or anywhere else for that matter) what is the worst possible thing that could happen to you? You sustain a physical injury that keeps you from dancing or you strain your voice – or God forbid lose your voice – keeping you from speaking your lines or singing. When you are …

Let’s Be Bad isn’t just the title of the latest episode of Smash but it also seemed to be the magic words that pushed all of the central characters into a realm for which the viewers have not seen them, pushing their boundaries and revealing another layer of who each of them are a people. Eileen is shaken by the …

So, you know how you have that show that you absolutely love, but there’s an episode that just doesn’t float your boat? Yeah – me too. Not that it isn’t good, this episode, but it’s not up to the standards to which you’ve become accustomed. Oh sweet, lovable, sad-sack, failure Jerry. I wondered if he could get more pathetic, and it turns out he could. His birthday is February 29th. Not that there’s a problem with that – but pile it on top of everything else that’s wrong with Jerry and it paints a very vivid picture. This time, it’s not a painting of Leslie as a …

In an episode that was to be focused on finding just the right actor to play Joe DiMaggio, the second husband of Marilyn Monroe, this new episode of Smash seemed to be overshadowed by filler stories focusing on affairs, stealing, acceptance and posturing. Ivy is still leading her (for now) quiet affair with Derek, but questioning if she was given …
