BLINDSPOT: “Swift Hardhearted Stone” {Roundtable}

Let’s have another top FBI Most Wanted in the mix for this week, but this time we are also adding a small child into everything else on this week’s Blindspot. This week’s tattoo is about a Syrian family with strong ties to terrorism, as if the stakes weren’t high enough this close to the end of the season. 1. What …

UNDERGROUND: How Location Shapes the Narrative

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to participate in a conference call with two of the stars of WGN America’s Underground, Adina Porter and Theodus Crane after their characters had been killed on their way to freedom. One of the more interesting aspects of the call came from a few of the other reporters, who asked about the …

UNDERGROUND: Powerful Performances from Young Stars

Underground, from WGN America, has been a show that has constantly challenged my expectations of a television show based on historic events so far this season. In a moment of levity back in August when I met with the cast and creative team, Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Aldis Hodge both praised the work of the younger actors from the show. However …

NICE BOYS: Alano Miller and Renwick Scott II

This week’s Underground showed up strength and courage from the Macon Seven, but it also pointed out what I recognized back in August when interviewing the cast of the show. Alano Miller and Renwick Scott III (Cato and Henry respectively) were just about the nicest to me during the interview, and it seems that after thinking Cato was not all …

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.: “Spacetime” {Roundtable}

Jan couldn’t make it this week so we’re trying to make due without her. 1. Much of this episode focused on the idea of spacetime and if it’s possible to change the future. If you’re familiar with other concepts of time travel, how does Fitz’s explanation fit in with your understanding? Liz: xcjngoierh;xv hucv4u975922wmlv uziza345g bigv8  That’s about how well …

BLINDSPOT: “Any Wounded Thief” {Roundtable}

“Got one….” as the episode says and it seems that the show continues to try and pull one over on the viewers time and time again. See what the Nice Girls think of this week’s episode of Blindspot. 1. So one of the themes early on was how relationships can and do change quickly. What do you make of David’s …

UNDERGROUND: Blucas and De Gouw Discuss the Hawkes

So far Underground has given us only small hints at the troubles and trials of the Hawkes (Marc Blucas and Jessica De Gouw) – from miscarriage to their decision to be a stop on the Underground Railroad. Last week ended with a scary situation for the pair, and that continues to be true in this week’s episode. However, before watching …

UNDERGROUND: More from the Cast of WGN’s New Hit Series

We’re two episodes into WGN America’s newest show Underground and there are already too many questions that I’m dying to know answers to. That’s lucky as we’re only two episodes in, and even back in August before I had a chance to watch the second episode, two of the cast, Adina Porter (The Newsroom, True Blood, The 100) and Amirah …
