MANIFEST: Josh Dallas Dives into Ben Stone and Manifest’s Larger Mysteries

By  |

Josh Dallas, fresh off the end of Once Upon a Time, looked to NBC’s new drama, Manifest, as a show he was invested in and intrigued by. At San Diego Comic Con this summer, Dallas sat down and explained a few of the deals of Ben’s life as well as his personal tagline for the show.

In the interview, Dallas revealed:

  • Ben’s desire for redemption along with his analytic mind
  • “Lost meets This is Us”
  • Being an alien in a familiar place for all the passengers of Flight 828
  • His relationship with Michaela and Ben
  • Ben’s obsessive need for answers and cures for all of the family’s problems after Flight 828
  • If Josh wants to know more of the myths before shooting an episode
  • The second changes that all of the passengers have now after they return
  • His character’s similarities to Rory from Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Dallas’ enthusiasm for the show is palpable in the interview, and he has so many questions for what the show is trying to do (are all these passengers given some power by G-d?) but all of those questions are compelling.

Manifest premieres Monday at 10pm on NBC. Jeff Rake shared his thoughts yesterday.
