TAKE TWO: Thoughts on “It Takes a Thief”

By  |

On TAKE TWO this week the biggest question may have been answered. Did they? Didn’t they?

This week Sam’s old art broker comes to her with a missing painting set for auction in a few days. Stolen from the art house, Eddie and Sam follow several leads, encounter a great art thief and come face to face with someone who gets what they want most of the time.

Roz’s Thoughts:
The Good
We finally got a kiss we saw coming from day one! And with it, all that jealousy was one of my favorite parts. It’s equally fascinating to see that both of them were jealous of someone else until that final moment.

Though, what’s next?

The Bad I love art so I’m sad we didn’t get more depth on the ways that art can be stolen or forged. I appreciate that we saw Sam consulting with the FBI helping in the end, but those people are amazing and I wanted more.

TAKE TWO – “It Takes A Thief” – Sam’s friend implores Sam and Eddie to track down and recover a $50 million painting that was stolen from his auction house. If he can’t get it back before the upcoming auction, his personal and professional reputation will be ruined. Meanwhile, Sam’s return to the dating scene tests her relationship with Eddie, leading to a surprising realization for both of them, on “Take Two,” THURSDAY, SEPT. 6 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. Rueben’s Thoughts:
The Good
Wow, what a way to end the episode with Sam and Eddie FINALLY kissing, right? Like Roz said, we’ve been waiting for that to happen since the beginning, and there was heat in that kiss. But it would’ve been interesting to see the reactions of Melissa – Eddie’ date [Aunt Jenna from The Vampire Diaries, by the way], who was waiting by a car on the street, and Sam’s new guy waiting in his car on the other side of the street. Wouldn’t it have been interesting?! And, yes, we got to see Zeus again!

TAKE TWO – “It Takes A Thief” –  (ABC/Jack Rowand) RACHEL BILSON

The Bad It wasn’t until closer to the end of the episode that I got more interested in the story. Sadly, I was a little bored, but the caper at big party, trying to find the stolen art and the bit of a twist ending to catch the real bad guy pulled me back in.

Ange’s Thoughts:
The Good
There’s no denying Eddie and Sam have chemistry and boy was the episode filled with plenty of sexual tension. I kind of liked the fact that up until this point they were just partners so I’m not sure how I feel about them going down the cliched road of mixing business with pleasure. I’m not completely opposed to it but I’m not 100% for it just yet. I really liked Sara Canning and her character in this episode – charming character and great twist with her switching sides and helping out Eddie and Sam!

The Bad I’m with Roz, I would have liked to have known more about how the art was stolen and forged and how the projection played into it.

TAKE TWO will air a new episode, its finale, on September 13 at 10/9c on ABC.
