NBC

Women of the Week

By  |

Given that we were treated to not one but two powerful episodes of NBC’s THIS IS US this week, our picks for Woman of the Week shouldn’t come as a surprise. Nonetheless, read on to find out why we found it to be a case of no contest with our picks this week…

Nominated by Ange: Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson on THIS IS US

This week I’m nominating Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson on This Is Us – heck, is it too early to dub her as Woman of the Year? I know we’ve praised her quite a few times in the past but she was phenomenal this week and had me bawling my eyes out in both episodes. It wasn’t just the range of emotions she brought to the screen while portraying both past and present Rebecca, but also the stillness she emoted in non-dialogue moments were just as powerful. Please just give her all the awards now!

Seconded by Rueben:

I have to agree. She did a great job!

Thirded by Melissa:

Agree 100%. Mandy Moore gave us two incredible performances this week. Her portrayal of Rebecca’s grief will, I think, become a gold standard for future actors tasked with similar scenes.

Ange is the Girl from Oz who travelled the States. Teen dramas, rom-comedies and superhero shows are her weakness. She also loves a good crime and medical drama and probably watches more TV than she can handle... You can contact her at ange@nicegirlstv.com.
