They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 52)

Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:

Amy Acker

Amy Acker – While Amy is best known for her role of Fred in Angel, before that pivotal role she had a small appearance in the box office movie Catch Me If You Can. After Angel came to an end, she had a recurring role in Alias, made guest appearances in Supernatural, How I Met Your Mother, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Ghost Whisperer, October Road, Private Practice and she appeared in the short-lived series Drive. Then came the series Dollhouse where she had a recurring role and a guest appearance in Human Target. She has recently appeared in the short-lived ABC drama Happy Town and will be seen in the box office movie The Cabin In the Woods.

Erin Chambers

Erin Chambers – Some of Erin’s first TV appearances were on CSI and Joan of Arcadia. She then made several appearances on Stargate Atlantis and guest starred in episodes of Veronica Mars, ER, CSI: NY, Closer to Home, Bones, Without A Trace and Medium. More recently she has been seen in episodes of Ghost Whisperer and Miami Medical. She also appeared in the made-for-TV movie The Storm, the box office movie Alvin and the Chipmunks and her voice was featured in the animated film Happy Feet. She will also be seen in the upcoming movie Heaven’s Rain.

Merrin Dungey

Merrin Dungey – While Merrin is best known for her role as Francie in Alias, she appeared in episodes of ER, Seinfeld, The West Wing, Friends and Curb Your Enthusiasm before landing that pivotal role. She also made several appearances in Grosse Pointe and Malcolm in the Middle before getting a lead role in the series Summerland and then having a recurring role in The King of Queens. More recently she has guest starred in Grey’s Anatomy, Boston Legal, Better Off Ted and Castle. It was also recently announced that Merrin will be joining the cable series Hung, as a recurring character.

Jason Behr

Jason Behr – Jason got his start on shows like JAG, Step By Step, Pacific Blue, Profiler and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also had a recurring role on Dawson’s Creek, but it was his role in the fan favorite WB series Roswell that got him a lot of attention. After that series ended he appeared in the movies The Shipping News, Happily Even After, The Grudge and Skinwalkers. Jason was cast in the drama pilot Matadors (that has yet to be picked up by a network) and will be seen in the movie Pinkville.

Scott Cohen

Scott Cohen – While Scott is best known for his role in Gilmore Girls, he appeared in episodes of Law & Order, Oz and New York Undercover. He also appeared in the made-for-TV movies Gia, The 10th Kingdom, Perfect Murder, Perfect Town: JonBenét and the City of Boulder and Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America. He also had guest roles in Numb3rs, Without a Trace, CSI: NY, Castle and Grey’s Anatomy. He will be seen in the upcoming projects 3 Weeks to Daytona and Loveless.

Mike Erwin

Mike Erwin – While Mike is best known as Colin from the WB series Everwood, he appeared in episodes of Judging Amy, 7th Heaven and Reba. He appeared as young Bruce Banner in the box office movie Hulk that starred Eric Bana and then appeared in a recurring role in the short-lived series Jack & Bobby and guest roles CSI: Miami and Joan of Arcadia. Most recently he has appeared in NCIS, Ghost Whisperer, Dexter, CSI and the season finale of The Vampire Diaries. He has two projects coming up: Wreckage and A Good Funeral.
